So i started my 5 lug conversion this week and the fronts went very smoothly! but the rears are giving me such a problem it isnt even funny! I unbolted the 4 bolts in the back and the 36mm axle nut bolt and tried doing just about every thing to get the old 4 lug hubs off but they wont even budge!!!! I heated them/ pb blasted them/ sledge hammered them/ etc etc. I even just tried recently after letting the pb blaster sit for a whole day and the 4 lug/wheel bearing came out with a hub puller but not the hubhttp://forums2.freshalloy.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
Has any one had this problem before and or have any advice? It would be greatly appreciated!!!
thanks

p.s i did search!

Just spray the hub with WD-40, let it sit a while and hammer away! If the 5 lug hubs came with the bolts then just put the old bolts back on the hub but not all the way. Leave some space so you can hit them with a hammer and slowly but surely the hubs will start coming off. Hit them like your life depends on it! Then you will be 5-luggin' it in no time.

Use the old 4-lug rotor and bolt it onto the hub backwards. it will give you some leverage to yank on. Usually they just come off if you wack it with a hammer though.

Why not just use a hub puller?

Why not just use a hub puller?

I did! it took off the 4 lug part but not the actual hub against the nuckle. Now i have nothing to hook to/pry at. Just the hub piece with the 4 bolt holes.

what i did was put a pry bar between the hub and the dust shield. i pried it off after i hammered it out a bit. try and try again and it will eventually come out
