hey guys, i'm just in here checking in a couple of things for my upcoming swap project.

I'm plannng on getting an sr20det (just the motor) shipped to me at a decent price and I remember being told that the ka24 and the sr20det 5 speed transmission is the same, so could I change them out easily? If not, then is there any other transmission found abundantly in U.S. salvage yards that is? or am I best off with going for a full motorset (motor+transmission).
My s14 is currently automatic, I plan on pulling the entire motor/transmission and switching with sr20det and a 5 speed, will I need to take any precautions or switch anything out to ensure this will go through smoothly? will it bolt right up?

Thanks

Sr trannys are becoming just as easy to find as a ka tranny these days. The sr and ka have the same internals but differet bell housings. If you can get an sr bell housing and put it on the ka tranny you will be good. Or you can spend the $300-$350 for a sr tranny and if you ever need to rebuild it you can use the ka rebuild kit.
