so about a week or so ago i pull over to get some gas. when i leave i go to start my car and it wont crank. i had battery power to everything else, it just wouldnt crank. no clicking or any other noises. i take a peek at the fuses and everything looks normal, so i pop my hood and take a look at the starter. i notice that the cable to the starter is a little loose so i tighten it up and try to start it again. still, i get nothing. i check the fuses one more time to make sure im not overlooking anything, they are all fine.

a few minutes later a buddy of mine comes down to give me a hand to push start it. we push it and it fires right up driving just as normal as any other day. i have been driving the car almost every day since by push starting it, thank god i live on a hill.

now i pull the starter out of the car a day or so after this all happens. i just had some time to go get it checked today and its working fine. this confused me even more....

the only thing i can think of is the sensor for the clutch isnt working properly so it wont let me start the car. anyone else have any suggestions? and if it is the sensor for the clutch im assuming there is a way to bypass it, im going to search for that now but i figured i would post this up to get some opinions.

yes, you can bypass the clutch switch. just wire the two wires together if im not mistaken. hook the starter up directly to the battery, see if it does anything. if nothing happens, then its blown. or.. you can just go to autozone and have it tested free.

Oh werd? Good. Much cheaper that way. :) Then the only other problem here is ignition related.. Try to replace the switch, or splice the wires together.. If I'm not mistaken thats what can be done. In 300zx's people put in a transistor or some shit, I cant recall too well. Hit up 240sx.org/faq I believe It is covered in there. Your pos battery wire running to the starter.. Is it corroded? I had an identical problem with my car.. turned out to be the wire. Replaced it with new 4ga. and presto.. Car started. Hope any of this helps.

Jump the two wires on the starter and see if it starts. I had my starter tested and it came out fine, but I replaced it anyways and my car started right up.

I had a same problem one day when i did an oil change. It seemed i accidentally unplugged a connector on the bottom on the alternator.
Just a small connector on the bottom. Check to make sure that didnt come loose.

so i found this out the hard way....was having problems starting the car too...just picked up my 2nd s13 from a friend of mine...had issues starting as well...no clicking from the starter, no bcm power....nothing...i overlooked the obvious...short in the system... i traced the problem to a loose positive starter wire grounding on the solinoid wire and or chassis...duhhhh...and thats after purchasing a gel cell battery from kragen...im out 170...with two perfectly good batteries...lol..lessoned learned....never overlook the obvious
