You don't need friction modifiers. All they really do it make the clutchs slip more so they make less noise. Also, not sure if your lsd recommends synthetic but some companies do and some do not.

incorrect. do you even own a clutch type?
friction modiefiers not only reduce noise but they reduce wear by alot. most diff fluids contrain friction modiefiers for example kaaz and tomei fluids and thats what is recommended by the manufacturer.

not using fm is not going to kill you but expect to wear out your plates 2-3 times as fast.

nismo can take synthetic (they include it with their own units).

Ditch the royal purple.

Run the motul diff fluid. You can buy 2 can shipped from [email protected] and pay less than driving to a place and picking up kaaz or tomei fluid.

hey, quick question.

when you install a 2way, nismo or kaaz etc. did you guys get new shims or did you reuse the old ones in the vlsd?

any difference? thanks

Actually I have a Kaaz 2 way. I got it installed by someone that used to work at Kaaz and that is the information that he told me. I'm guessing he knows more about it then you do.

alright just some questions that i couldn't find answered in the past.

i got a nismo gt pro lsd and it comes with synthetic 80w90. for the break in period, i heard its better to use regular oil because of the oil properties, it actually breaks in the diff. just like engines, you use regular and then use synthetic, same theory for differentials? should i use the same grade of oil or different for break in?

also, i've heard that it is very very VERY rare that people need to reshim or relocate the shims in the differential. what would cause this to happen?

thanks!
