sr tranny have a different shifter "C" clip then ka?

for some odd reason my s14 sr tranny has a bigger diameter where the shifter "c" clip goes and my ka one doesnt work. i ordered one from nissan thinking i just had the wrong "c" clip but turns out its the same size that was too small. i thought ka and sr tranny where exactly the same except the bellhousing

any input would be great
