Maybe you all can help. I just swapped a redtop in my S13 and the car will barely run. It barely idles at 500rpm and if i give it 5% throttle then it will rev til about 900 rpm or so and then will completely die. After I pull the spark plugs, they are completely fouled from being rich. Completely black after only running for a minute or so. I have two wiring points that Im not completely sure on. Heres what Ive done:

Checked compression and it is good, all cylinders are within 10psi of eachother. I checked to make sure the FPR was working to make sure fuel pressure wasn't going through the roof and it is working properly. I switched MAF's and nothing changed. I keep taking the plugs out and cleaning them so when I try something new, Im starting with fairly fresh plugs. I took the valve cover off and verified that timing is correct.

Im using a Q45 ignitor and using Heavy Throttle's wiring diagram. Is this for sure correct? It almost feels like the coil packs are firing in the wrong order. I also had to hardwire in the two coolant temp. sensors and am not 100% sure I got those right. One is just a single wire and the other is just a two wire which I understand has no polarity.

I have not checked codes yet, but I was wondering if anybody knows why Im running SO RICH that the car wont rev. Also, sometimes when the motor comes to rest it will backfire out the intake and a puff of smoke comes out the intake but only for one puff at the last second before it shuts off.

Please help me, thanks guys.

Check the ECU codes first.... That will tell you what to correct. Heavy throttle and their swap guide is good enough. That tells you everything

Did you mess with the cam/crank timing? I guess not if you have good compression.

I would:
Repunch the CAS to make sure it is aligned correctly.
Check Coil Output signal per ECU pinout to make sure each Coil signal is correctly making its mark.

What is the timing placing @ with a timing light?

I will check the codes tomorrow and get back to you. Thanks guys.

Doh, it ended up being the cam angle sensor was in 180* off. I never messed with it when I got my motor so I had made the assumption it had never been taken off. Oh well, the car purrs now. Thanks everybody.
