I was wondering if anybody has bought ebay headers and if they are worth it. I figure anything is better than stock....right? I aint no baller that can afford 3-400 dollar headers.

You get what you pay for IMHO... save up and buy the real thing and spend the money once. I've got friends who have used eBay headers, intakes, FMIC.. you name it. Most of the time the difference in quality is noticebable and affects peformance. My friends eBay header cracked after only a couple months, and didn't bolt on right in the first place, for example.

I've installed three OBX headers on cars, one we tracked numerous times last year, enough to turn it bronze, no problems other than the EGR not lining up perfectly. For half the price it's worth it.

Wow... really? The headers I was refering to in my last post were OBX ones. Maybe we just got a bad one or something? lol

headers crack cuz of heat wrapping and exhaust vibration

^^^ The manifolds weren't wrapped, and the replacement manifolds are still working fine... and that was awhile ago. Don't remember off hand what he replaced them with.

actually, not necessarily. As I said in the thread linked above, someone tested an ebay header versus the stock header, and found virtually no gains, plus, they lost the durability of the cast iron unit. If you can't afford $3-400, then you just can't afford a header right now. Save up until you can buy a decent header, like the tomei expreme.

If you are interested, I have a megan manifold, slightly used for like 90 bux. LMK.

I had a OBX on my car for 2yrs no problem. Prolly going to sell it soon.
I did notice gains over the stock manifold.

Mine is an n/a ka dohc. I'm interested in any if you got them. Just send some pics or post em up. I dont want to spend that much on headers because I plan on goin turbo in about six months. I just want something to last until then. Thanks for all the input.
