Is it possible to kill vss using a HUD

My hud has a bad capacitor but when I heat it, it will light up. But After driving 30-45 minutes it still doesn't light but one day I got a speed sensor code and I thought it was weird. Does anybody know if radioshack carries that 50v 1uF lead whatever capacitor?
