One of my friends said that i should do the following, in the following order
Electronic Boost Control- about $500
ECU- about $500
Cams- about $200
Rods & Pistons- about $800
port & polish- ? (could you tell me the price?)
Nsport turbo- (3000-3500)
Is this true? He says you dont just drop a turbo into a stock engine, because it can not handle it.... Does this sound right?

"a turn" do you mean "a turbo"?
I guess if its a non-turbo stock engine (such as the KA) you can't just slap on a turbo.....i think.

You know...
Everyone has their own beliefs on what you can and can't do. My personal belief... if you know the limits of your car, you can approach and meet those limits.
I also believe that your friend is an idiot. Who puts a boost controller into a stock KA? Followed by a naturally aspirated engine running a set of low compression pistons while you save up $4,000? Just weird. But extremely conservative.
And me on the other hand....
I just slapped a turbo on a stock 240... and am happy as hell!

Really, has there been any problems? Which turbo did you use, and how much money did you end up spending? Finally, did you buy any other things rather than the turbo?

you dont need new pistons or cams to put a turbo on a ka...as long as your not planning on run too much boost. just upgrade your fuel (injectors fuel pump and fuel rails if the injectors excede 370cc i believe thats the max the stock ones can take) you can probably run 10psi safely w/ that. the mileage of the engine is also an important factor. if you got more than 100k miles its gonna take more work. and pistons and rods are deff not gonna be 800 bucks... more in the thousands including installation. you also dont need a port and polish to run a turbo.

How much do the stuff you just said cost? And the car is not for racing, it is my daily driver, and I just want to get it to atleast 200 hp, the Nsport says 240hp which is great... also will gas be wasted quickley? How many miles to gallon stock.... with turbo? Thanks ALOT!!!

if you keep your foot out of it, mileage shouldn't change...might even go up. but if you boost a lot, which you will, you will get much less mpg. but who cares? if you are concerned about mileage, but a damn honda and don't mod it. a nice 89 CRX HF will get 50 mpg on the highway without even breaking a sweat.

I'm going to give you a hard time in every new thread you post until you actually read some of the archives or wait for an answer before begining a new thread. Stop telling us what your friend who is unfamiliar with both 240's and the Nsport kit tells you and read the wealth of information contained on this board from people who HAVE DONE EVERYTHING YOU ARE ASKING AND WROTE ABOUT IT!!!
Seriously, you start a new thread that that is a tangent of what your last thread ended with because you don't wait the ten minutes it takes for someone to answer you. Post less, read more.
Edit:: to add to my earlier post, the problem isn't so much that you asked a newbie question without doing any reseach. We tend to answer many of the same questions all the time so it's not that you're repeating a question we don't want to answer, so much as because you don't have any background you continually ask more questions based on what you were just told, when if you searched, a couple questions would have been answered in the process and a more educated question could be raised. Also, you tend to ask vague questions. I can tell you a dozen ways to make 300 hp, but you have to have a goal other than a number, otherwise youll get dozens of answers. Is it tractable power for a SoloI race car or can it be laggy power for a drag only car? Does it have to be a daily driver? Do you have any experience under the hood? All of these variables change the way you get to 300 hp quite drastically. Now you have added the turbo KA to the list which is more questions.
So before you ask anymore, read the FAQ and archives at:

dude, that all depends on how you drive, how many miles you drive, and how often you floor it. just the same as it is now. power isn't free. if you go to the track, you might only get 6-10 mpg. if you are on the street, you'll probably get around 20 mpg on average. this is just common sense, bro.
and read and heed what Steve (240 2NR) said...if you don't, you'll start getting flames and people will stop reading your posts. in fact, the ONLY reason i'm reading this is because i saw that Steve had posted after me. do some more homework, THEN come here with your questions. i like helping and i like learning, but i don't like answering the same thing multiple times per day.
