i searched and searched and i appoligize in advance and feel free to flame the shit out of me, but my question is, while i know yes the CAS controlls spark, would a damaged one cause absolutely NO spark?

no spark could be a number of problems:
-bad ignitor
-bad coilpacks
-bad ECU
- shorted harness.
is this what you're asking?

i know for a fact that its not ignitor, its not the ecu and the odds of all four coilpacks being bad are slim, so im gonna say its CAS, it does appear damaged. i just want to know if that would cause a complete absence of spark as opposed to just cuasing mistimed spark

yes it will absolutley cause no spark if its damaged. i had this same issue with my motor. pretty sure it was damaged in shipping. check ebay, you can find one from canada for about 160$ as opposed to getting one from the dealer for 300$. hope this gets you goin.
