failed smog check with stock ka

so umm im trying to sell my car, but it failed on the idle part got 533 which is twice the gp. here are the numbers:

the guy who did it said that it might be running too rich. or a missfire. im guessing its running rich cuz it smells funky and if there is a misfire, i will be able to tell cuz it will be riding hella rough, but it doesnt. drives perfect no problems at all. so how would i fix this richness problem? stock ka with e-fan and bigger radiator, battery relocated to trunk as only mod to engine cuz i put back my stock intake stuff.

does anyone know the size of the o2 bolt thing to get it off? also where do i go now to smog since i failed? if i need to go to a ref anyone know where i can go in CHICO, CA 95926 or anywhere near. thanks.

if that doesn't work its time for a tune-up.

also i seafoamed my car like 2 hr before the smog check. would that matter?

I have no idea, but if your o2 sensor is bad it usually runs rich to keep the motor from grenading.

i guess first thing to do is 02 cuz that hasnt been changed ever since i got my car. cats been changed last year. ummmmmmmmmmm shit fuck. spending too much money to sell it.

If the cat was changed out recently then check your o2.

o2's aren't expensive compared to cats

What year is your car/KA? IMO could be your knock sensor, primary and secondary o2 sensor, and/or cat. But if it was your cat wouldn't you notice a dramatic loss in power? hmm... Tune up wouldn't hurt too. Any pending codes; sensor malfunction. Seafoam works wonders.

Seafoam can seriously foul your plugs and O2.

You really shouldn't have tested with additives in the fuel system. Screwed your results. You need to burn this tank off. Then fill the tank up. Burn that one down. Then on the 3rd tank of gas, replace the Fuel Filter, Plugs and O2 sensor. Then go back.

i only seafoamed the vac lines prior to the smog check. also seafoamed it yesterday when oil change. didnt seafoam the gas. but i will replace the o2 and the spark plugs soon

Uhmm, pretty much a close to guarantee to pass smog is to do what I did... Seafoam, do as S14DB said and burn off that gas and another gas tank... Then a tune-up... Mine only ran me about $100, but my auto teacher got a discount on some parts for me... Change everything, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, and oil and oil filter... That should be good, or you could flush your radiator as well, iirc that helps too...
