step 1: unbolt KA bell housing
Step 2: bolt on SR bell housing
step 3: re-install tranny.

Its pretty simple.

ok dude i did it my self but didnt take pictures or do a write up or anything, but here's the basics. Its fairly simple actually really simple.
First thing you do is remove the cover in the inside of the bell housing, should be a couple number 12s. Once you do that there is 2 "C" clamps holding the tranny together, take them out, dont loose them. The middle of the tranny has a steel plate with number 12s all the way around it. Take all of them out. The tranny is pretty tough to seperate from that bell housing due to sealant. Try with a screw driver and a dead blow hammer.

hope this helps

What he said. If you got the transmission out of the car you should have no problem swapping the bellhousing, it's literally self explanatory.

Can this be do with swapping a auto KA into a SR20DET which was previously a 5-speed?

They are the same, but people would rather have the sr housing because its aluminmum as opposed to the cast iron ka housing, and its jdm :D

jk btw

Make sure you have some snap ring pliers when taking the bell housing off
