ok so I totalled my 240 a while ago, im trying to pull everything i can from it and then scrap the shell....I was told that if you unbolt the subframe and remove it, you can pull the motor tranny and everything else all at once...anyone have any experience doing this, any tips would be helpful before i start

disconnect everything, drop the front subframe, and it will all come out

I think it might be motre work than just removing the engine the traditional way. But yeah I guess undo engine/tranny X members. Pull out the driveshaft.

i'd disconnect everything unbolt the subframe/trannymount..etc and just lift the car from around the motor/subframe.
If its totalled.. just cut the radiator support out of the way put it on car dollies and roll it away from the motor. Other wise your going to need a lift or something to lift the car over the motor after u drop the subframe.

Crossmember, not subframe. Two entirely different things.
On the cars I buy, usually hit in the front, I wheel a cart underneath, cut the core support off, and drop the entire assembly on to the cart, then roll it out from the front. You can then pick parts of as needed and remove the transmission easily as well. Just remember to unbolt the column turnbuckle before you let it drop.

ha yeah sorry pulling everything out....I just need the body itself out of my driveway since its taking up so much space...figured i could unbolt my subframe drop everything a pull my VLSD 5lugs and all that a later point....also how do you guys usually unbolt the driveshaft...I cant really fit a ratchet onto the nuts

carrier bearing.. 17mm socket.
Rear diff to the driveshaft? use a wrench, pull up the ebrake to keep it from spinning on you.. then let the ebrake down.. spin the driveshaft to readjust, set the brake again.. until u get the them all off.
Drift shaft just slips out of the tranny.
