Chameleon paint job: red to black

Has anyone seen a chameleon dual-tone red/black paint job before? I thought one of the OEM colors for the 350Z was it, but it was just a bergundy/maroon. I'm in great need of a paint job so I wanted to see what the red/black paint scheme would look like. Help?

I'm sure its do able, but can you afford it. Chameleon paint is usually pretty expensive. Looks really nice, but just expensive.

I was expecting to spend about 2500 to 3000 on a paint job. My project is going to be slow, so I'm just seeing what kind of custom options I have.

I would, but I'd have to spend money on a spray gun kit, compressor, and booth time (I live in a condo so no garage :rant:). It would definitely be worth it though. I'm keeping my options open, foo.

ha ha that color scheme only looks good on Signal Auto cars.

Personally, Chameleon paint jobs are only good for show cars, and those shows stopped being cool to go to in like 2001.

But that's just my opinion.

Just paint it black and add A LOT of red pearl and red metal flake.

I think by chameleon he means a red pearl over black, or a black pearl over red. Both of these look fantastic. Like the crazy Russian said, paint's not the expensive part (just a nice 3 part base, with your pearl mixed in to a couple layers of clear before final clear), it's the labor. I actually was playing around painting my new S13 in Forza 2 a nice black->red pearl just now :)

Sorry I can't help on pics, but if you want to see what I'm talking about with pearls, check out www.paintwithpearl.com, and look at all their pearls. Some decent blue->green pics in there, just imagine black->red instead.

Yeah I agree. I like simple solid colors and maybe some flake to spice things up. There are some cars that look pretty cool with Chameleon paint though

chameleon paint was cool when it first came out...chameleon 240 would like like rice, paint your car to make it look clean not make in look like a donk, although it is your car so do what you want

paint code: L40 - Interlagos Fire (which is the newest version of that color, its has bronze and violet metallic)

or the older version

paint code: AX8 - Brickyard (doesnt have the bronze in it, a little darker)

I have a black pearl paint with gold flakes mixed in that look amazing on the 240,i try for some pics soon. The vast majority of 240's Ive seen have the normal boring look.
