are you installing the HUD cluster? if you are sorry to say this but...SEARCH!

go to search and type in "hud install"...you'll have all your answers there

good luck:)

if your just installing the jdm cluster in...i believe it just plugs right in

no im not installing one, im removing it, we finished my swap like 2 days ago and none of my gauges worked, i heard that you need either a dually or the JDM cluster for the tach and speedo

if you have the jdm cluster it should just plug in without mods
check this thread:

no.. jdm cluster does not plug directly in. you need the jdm cluster harness. its about 1.5-2 ft long and plugs into the jdm cluster, then adapts into the dash harness right behind the center vents

oh yea thats right if you have the hud cluster you need to change the subharness that goes to it. it plugs right in the main harness in the middle of the dash....your right trybal, my bad:duh:

Cluster and subharness directly plug in. The speedometer from the SOHC will still work, it's only the tachometer that isn't compatible with the newer signal.

And welcome to 1991 when we first discussed this.

If you are trying to get the tach to work, FYI, the All analog DOHC tach face is larger than the HUD face, and looks DUMB swapped in. So, get a dohc tach HUD, wish you were in so-cal so I could wire it up, or become a premie and read my writeup in two weeks.

ohk so we took the tach from the jdm cluster and switched it with the HUD cluster, and plugged it in, but the tach still doesn't work, my jdm cluster came with about a foot or so of wires connected to it, do i have to splice them?

Does it look like ass yet?

j/k

You should only have to use the HUD harness now. If it still does not work, something is wrong with you ecu/dash wiring.

hmm, it worked fine before the sr, any ideas at what i would need?

Dash Plug Wiring From the ECU. Did you connect it?

Using the 89 Heads Up Display with the JDM SR Tach Swapped in, you would simply use the 1989 Heads up display pig tail harness.

If these things are put together like this, it will work.
