View Full Version : front wheels centering back later than steering wheel centering.

I have a strange problem developing right now.

When I go through a slow corner with some speed and coming out of the corner, I feel front wheel centering back later than the steering wheel! As front wheel centers, it pushes the steering wheel further to the direction it is centering back to, therefore changing the direction of the car by itself. This kind of feeling doesn't happen when I turn the steering wheel to go into a corner. Only when I am exiting a corner.

These are my mod list on steering system.
Megan coilover front
Aluminium steering bushing.
Tein tension rod (more than an year old)
Tein tie rod end.

I am going through all of these but would like to know if anyone experienced anything like this.

sounds like an alignment issue

Sounds like some weird caster and toe problem.

Have you gotten an alignment since you installed your tie rods and tension rods?

Yes, I did get an alignment done after installation.
This was a toe problem. Shit load of negative toe I found. I am trying to see whether tie rod inner or outer has moved. Thanks for your helps!

Yeah, you need close to negative toe.

You probably didn't threaded too much/ not enough thread into the outer end of the tie rod. I'm guilty of that as well.

It fucked up my entire alignment trying to get it into 0*.

uhh... if you can't set the toe to 0 or whatever you want theres something wrong with your car.

Check your steering rack bushings.

yea everyone should be able to set the toe to 0. If not you did something wrong.
