My 1991 Superwhite hatchback has nice paint. it was taken care of and I believe it was always garaged. Well, I go to college tomarrow, and (the least of my worries) is that the sun is going to kill it. I have a sunshade so the interior is good (crappy shape anyways) but I am worried about the paint. This car will be lightly driven. Maybe 4 days out of the week, 150 miles a week.
So I am thinking, would a car cover be worth it? I am still worreid though, about door dings and crap. I would have bought a college beater, but 240sx's will be harder to come by when I graduate in 5 years.

I have a cover for my coupe. It came with the car. I've never used it in the 2 years I've been parking my car outside at school. No probs with the paint...just wax it now and then. And wash it if birds shit on it or trees drop sap on it. Big reason for car covers is during storage...if you're driving it semi-frequently, you should be fine.

Well if you are a stickler for detai and really paranoid, I would get one. It's a pain though to put it on each time. Taking off is easier though...duh. A car cover will most likely not help avoiding dings though. It aint some super force field.
I believe they cost around $30-50 depending on size. I have one for my FC, but the car is just sitting there, all the time.

i've had other car covers, but i like the noah car cover the best. it ran 130 bucks but its great for keepign the car clean, has a near perfect fit, comes with its own storage bag, etc etc etc....
