I'm installing DOHC power steering lines for an SR20 swap and I just wanted to get some feedback from someone who has done this before. I wasn't able to find any good pictures of how the lines are routed through the search so hopefully someone has some pictures or can verify that I have them routed correctly. I believe I have it right except the metal piece with the pressure sensor on it. As I have it mounted now it is laying on the crossmember and it just doesn't look right. Here are some pictures, thanks in advance:

Hey, and also... The sensor in the middle picture doesn't have the wire/plug on it as you can see. Can I do without that I do I need to find a replacement?
Thanks again...

You do not need the oil pressure switch for the power steering. All it does is idle up the engine under full steering lock to decrease engine load, there's virtually no time you're ever at full lock for any length of time and usually you're driving anyway, maintaining a steady idle.

bump....
Thanks R240, what about the location of the sensor and how it is about laying on the crossmember? I know there are a ton of people who have done this... Help me out guys. I need to get this bad boy in!

WTF I thought I answered this? oh well the flexible hose has to be parallel with the frame so the line will go straight up. Other than that your good. So just have to screw it in another quarter of a turn and it should point up at 12 O'Clock.

Of the ones I've done, the pressure line where the sensor is did not look like that. There should be a bracket to allow the bottom of the line to bolt to the driver side brace with two rubber bushings and 2 10mm bolts. Is that an aftermarket pressure line? As for everything else, looks right.

That looks right. That's how mine is set up. It's suppoed to run along the crossmember and mount to the other side of the engine bay.

Thanks to all. With this info and pondering it further I believe I have it figured out (at least in my head) I will post the final results later this weekend. Stay tuned if you are interested!

im sorry to go so off topic, but where did you get the line that goes from the pressure sensor to the neck of the rack? i really need to know where to get this, its the only thing leaving my 240 off the road, thanks in advance!

I purchased this as a complete set. You can get the complete lines set from Nissan for 300 bucks or so (ouch!) Your best bet is to ask around in the WTB section to see if somebody has it laying around. It may be difficult to find that individual line. Good luck though!

The high pressure line you have looks to be aftermarket, the OE switch is a little different from what I recall on the OE line. You can pick those up at most parts retailer for about $55.

Zach,
I'm frustrated to say not yet! Work has kept me so busy (I'm in sales... so busy is good!) and haven't had a chance to complete. This weekend isn't looking so good either but hopefully I will be able to find a couple hours. Rest assured that I will post pics when I get it wrapped up!
Take care for now...

**Or you can go to a u-pull-it junkyard and get the pressure line and hard lines and the mounting brackets for $8 like I did. ;)
