I'm gonna buy one of them.. which one would you buy?

A- TOUCAN™ RACTIVE® TUNABLE CARBON-FIBER MUFFLER
B- AROSPEED TUNABLE STAINLESS STEEL MUFFLERS

Neither. A muffler on an otherwise stock exhaust system is a worthless mod. No power gained. The only thing I can promise is a very poor exhaust tone.

i never said i was only going to change the muffler... im getting a custom 2.5'' Exhaust with a Dynomax hi-flow Cat and now i need to decide which muffler... and i'm between these two:

A- TOUCAN™ RACTIVE® TUNABLE CARBON-FIBER MUFFLER
B- AROSPEED TUNABLE STAINLESS STEEL MUFFLERS

Check the outlet of the pipe.. make sure its big..

arospeed - crap.. we ordered about 2000 dollars worth of arospeed stuff and sold it to another shop at the same price... everything we got from them was so cheaply made...

Well them my bad. I still wouldn't purchase either. Canister muflers in my experience sound pretty poor. I would go with Magnaflow components for a custom system.

Didn't you *JUST* put a DTM style magnaflow on your car? &nbsp; Why are you changing it?

The only TUNABLE muffler I would even consider buying is a supertrapp. &nbsp; For how many race cars run them, I have to assume they perform better than any knock off tuner crap.

since you're so smart.. why dont tou make a suggestion?

and to 240 2NR, yes it is true i *JUST* put a DTM style muffler.. not magnaflow.. just a cheap ass one! lol.. but it is also true that I am going to sell my 92 Coupe w/ Auto Tranny (finally), and drive my 88 Acura Legend around until i find a 91-93 HB w/ MT. I'm getting my thoughts together for what I'm going to do with the HB. I am already buying the parts.. i have the Hotshot intake, and the hotshot header, and I'm now buying the parts for the exhaust, so the minute i get the HB I will install everything the same day... well.. not me.. but my step father.. he owns a shop... any links to supertrapp muffler?

also, uuninja, I did look into magnaflow mufflers, but i only seem to be able to find them in 2.25'' and 3'' inlet, and i want 2.5'' inlet to match the sizing of my piping...

As a mater fo fact I do have a link for ya. http://www.supertrapp.com/Automotive/automotive_page.htm

They make great mufflers. Not to diss you choices but, I have never heard any thing good about either of those. From what I know of those brands they tend to be low end "rice" type products. But liek I say I have no first hand experience with either.

Well good luck.

lmao &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp;Sometimes those things have to be said. &nbsp;

bbp runs a Supertrap set up on his racecar, iirc. &nbsp;I think it is a little loud for the streets though.

Any thoughts about getting the Apexi N1 cannister (just the muffler) and having it fit to your piping? &nbsp;I know they sell them, but I'm not sure about price. &nbsp;Probably the best out there and not too loud - plus if you just buy the universal you can get some pimpy colors.

Both are botton of the barrle crap!! If you are that hard up to buid a custom exhaust just get a Apex'i N1 or HKS Hiper universal canister.

Don't buy crap cuz that's all you can afford...save and buy stuff that is worth it.

www.optauto.com (http://www.optauto.com)

Options Auto Salon sells those as well as Blitz, tanabe, HKS, and many others. Look under engine->exhaust->universal.

everything that ive had on a car or a friend bought it from me to put on their car crap = 1-10 = good

arospeed &nbsp; &nbsp; :1 total crap
magnaflow &nbsp; :9 noticed a hp increase with it and the 2.5 pipe
obx &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; :7 nice tone noticed hp increase
matrix &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; :2
greddy &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;:6 nice sound no noticeable difference
pace setter &nbsp;:1 sounds like hell no hp increase
apex'i &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;:10 dyno tested it at 15hp on the 240sx (scc)

one arospeed went on this guys seabring... it sounds bad... and looks bad.. and no hp increase.. maybe lost hp.. look into the muffler tip.. small outlet.. .

one arospeed went on my friends celica.. its sounds WAY to loud.. he noticed a very small increase with it AND a injen CAI which makes me suspect that arospeeds are bad for performace

magnaflow had one on my car.. one guy dynoed his at 12 on his 240sx &nbsp;sounded great and i let mad friends drive my car and all said they could tell a difference

obx one went on my friends integra.. sounds really nice.. not all ricey.. he noticed a small increase

obx one went on my friends neon.. sounds REALLY REALLY good (its a dual) I can notice an increase in the passenger seat he noticed right after we left the shop

obx one going on my car (pending) got mad work to do to the poor 97.. been sitting in the shop for about 7 months now

matrix went on this guys civic... sounded ok but no hp gain noticed. &nbsp;looked cheap

greddy was on a maxima looked good sounded good.. im sure there was an HP gain.. ive seen dyno charts for it... (full cat back)

pace setter is by far the CHEAPEST crap ive ever seen.. this was on my friends neon.. i KICKED the tip off the muffler.. thats freaking cheap and it sounded like hell always

apex'i heard one on a civic sounded good.. scc dynoed the cat back on the 240sx at 15 hp.. nice gain.

all of these other than the cat backs were custom 2.5 inch pipe

a while ago, the local shop I go to here received a catalog from Toucan, trying to have him start selling their products, I asked him, what do you think about that brand? &nbsp; He replied "crap" &nbsp;and then threw the magazine away. &nbsp; This is a guy who does sell some ricey stuff (there's ricey buyers out there), yet he won't even sell that stuff.

I would go online and buy a NA n1. either enjuku(not sure if they sell it), or rollhard. &nbsp; At least that's where I'd go. &nbsp;Honestly, I'd stick with brands that are popular...sure sometimes namebrands are popular only because of the name...but sometimes there's a reason.
