How would you get the needle to read for a faster speedo?

I15 north of barstow
14 north of Lancaster
405S Starting from the 55.
55 S starting from the 405.
110N starting from San Pedro.

Oh yeah, all of this is illegal.... so uh... Salt Flats?

1 more thing, not that this really matter....

the S13 Speed Sensor (metal) only outputs a useable signal until maybe 120ish. After this the signal turns to garbage.

Reason why, is that the pickup is not a optical pickup, but a magnetic pickup, once it gets going to fast, its garbage.

just buy the lsauto 180mph speedo, $115 shipped and all you have to do is put it in you cluster.

when we did my dyno runs, I did a top speed run just for the fuck of it.
I have 180km/h speedo with resistor and GPS verified at 95mph.
When we did dyno runs, at 150mph it was running a little faster but withing 10%, which is acceptable.

But with 4.08 gears, you won't go much past the 150mark.
Actually getting to that speed on the roads, will create ALOT of ressistance/drag, so I hope you got the HP to support it.

One question.

Why?

Honestly. Because I had a JDM cluster and getting the resistor in isn't a big deal. Oh yeah and because sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I dont.

Ok, let me re-phrase what I meant.

Why would I go 150mph.

Sure it would be cool, but I wouldn't want to do it in my 240. It'll prolly fall apart.

People running all seasons faster than they are rated for. Have fun when they blow out.

i went 150 in an opel station wagon in germany. it was a turbo diesel. i think the roads have more to do with it than anything. if it is smooth, its not that big of a deal.

Its a cool idea, but it wouldn't prove helpful... Most people on here, including myself, don't plan on drifting at 115-150 MPH, so I don't find that useful... Maybe the ones that use their 240 for grip racing, but I haven't heard of many people going past 115 on a track, so I don't know... Unless you are selling them for $15 bucks or something and its plug and play, then you might have a few buyers... Other than that, I would have to agree with everyone, I don't think I would feel safe going past 120 in my 240, something will probably break, especially with my luck...

I got my S14 up to 148 on I-10 here in MS. That is when the MSHP clocked me and hit the lights though. At 120 I still had plenty of RPM before redline so I asked someone to help me bypass the cut-off and let me see how fast it could go. He helped me rig the speed sensor on a toggle and killed it before 120, 5 minutes later the blues hit me and I was in trouble. Yeah the Patrolman was acting all excited about the number, I was supposed to be the surprised one. Snatched me out the car, showed me I had a few scratches on my hood and a dent in my fender. All in all I think it went well :Ownedd: , I managed to dodge jail and drive my ass home that evening. Buddy of mine pulled some strings for me from the passenger seat. His dad knew people I guess and eventually we left, in a hurry. That car got a BOLO (be on look out) eventually and I let her go.:(

I would say go for it. Might as well because i know a few guys who take their S13-S14's over 130mph on the weekends. Especially if you go with bigger turbo applications, its almost a must. Here is my Euro-spec one:

This was tested on a KA-T making 600rwhp. The damn digital stopped at 130mph. It will not go above that unless you do something with the ecu to trick it.
