I checked one out at a car show I was at recently... I liked it. It's about time Nissan made another coupe like this. Now only if it was RWD....

With this SE tied down on the truck, gives you an idea of what it would look like lowered.

Yep it sure has. And Inside Line said it's the best FWD sports car on the market!

For a chick or DD you can't go wrong.

it looks extremely wide, or is that how the pic is?

Hmm it has too much of that "oh what you cant afford a g35 so you buy that?" look to it.

its the pic but that back end looks great!....

I never really understood why someone would buy an 2-door altima/camry/accord/monte carlo etc. If you're going to get a car that big, might as well get a 4-door. plus, ususally their pretty goofy looking.

Take it apart and tell us what fits on the S-chassis!

The car looks great. But I never like the idea of a 270hp car in fwd.

 I wonder if Nissan would take that as a cue to bring the S-Chassis back?

Probably not. haha

looks too much like a lower class G35. It would be kind of embarrasing to drive it. but I have a BMW so I'm prolly just an asshole.

I can't help looking at that tunnel and thinking damn that thing is big enough for a driveshaft. lol makes you wonder if they are going to do a RWD or AWD version in Japan.
Though ya it should mop the floor with TC's.

I'm pretty sure the Altima is a North America Nissan thing only.

^^ I thinking the same thing about the drive shaft too bad though.... It looks nice but I still wouldn't by it. Now if it came AWD or FR then there is a definite possibility that i would buy one especially since I looking for a new car now.

I want it RWD...

exitspeed
05-24-2007, 10:36 AM
If it was RWD, what would be the point of the G35/350z? They'd be like 30 more HP and a couple hundred pounds heavier and $10k more.

Who would want buy a G then?

I think this car helps kill of the chances of a new SX too.

santacruisin
05-24-2007, 11:23 AM
^^^I think the 350Z killed off the chances of a new SX a long time ago.

What is the Cost of one? Base model and fully loaded?

I like it. Why pay all that money for a G when you can get this and still have cheaper insurance?

Because the G is RWD and this is not. :-/

Sadly, I bet most G owners couldn't even tell difference if it's RWD or FWD. They're too busy putting 18x8.5 +25 and 18x9.5 +30 on their cars..

Actually 19x9.5, 19x10.5 +24 all around, and still easily break em loose. Anyhow, this car does look pretty close to the G, but it's not... little less power, and it's fwd - but for what it is, I think it's pretty cool.

20k? A little more and I can get a WRX, a low miles S2000 or G35.

20k? A little more and I can get a WRX, a low miles S2000 or G35.

With the VQ, it should be faster than a WRX(also the new one's will have absurdly disgusting aesthetics) . S2000 is an apple, this is an orange. Its hard to imagine a person cross shopping them. The G35 coupe would have to be a high mileage, almost out of warranty example to cost as much as this thing.

I think there is a market for it, we'll see if it sells or not.

200 hp Turbocharged 4WD > FW V6 anyday for me.
Then I prefer oranges.
True.

rear wheel is the thing now. ... Nissan must be crazy welding sheets of metals to create FWD coupe. ....will it affect 350z sales if it was RWD? .. cmon, they had 300zx and 240sx sold at the same time for 10years and made a good sale out of them ..of course not for the s-14's later years..... i like this car's style but i guess sales would knock more at nissan's door if it was RWD to compensate for the people who missed on 240sx.

thats awesome!! a pussy version of a g35! fwd and cheeper! thats great, so now people that wish they could drive a g35, cna buy a altima coupe for a little more than half the price?
well, whatever floats your boat, ill stick with my s14.

and to the comment about sales above me.

toyota doesnt have a 2 door fwd car anymore, and there is a big market for it, liek people who dont want to drive a sports car or a rear wheel drive car, like people that want to look good going a-b, and elderly people that want to feel young.

so there is a huge market for it, its only other competition is the ugly accord two door? so i think they will sell good enough.

i thought it looked more like a G35C and Scion TC.

it will ALWAYS be "another girl car" because its FWD, and bloated, and heavy. the new altima, much like the old altima, will be used to transport families all throughout the US.

Oh wait! It's the G37! Who would've thought....

Personally though, I think it was a bad executive decision to make them look so alike. And for the G37 to come out AFTER the Altima coupe, well... It's just a more expensive Altima if you ask me.

all girls and college students will rock it. obviously we all are a little bias toward "rwd" platforms, but for the other 85% of america they now have this as an option too.

no.

Yeah, not really for me but for someone in the market for a FWD sporty coupe, this is pretty nice.

2.5 4 cyl for decent gas mileage or the 3.5 V6 for good power. This really doesnt cater to our crowd but most 240 owners aren't going out buying new cars either. Nissan did the right thing, these are selling very well.

EchoOfSilence

yeah, they're just trying to pick up on this market and its population and it seems like they made a good choice.
