Hi, I've noticed that I have a oil leak and I have narrowed it down to where it looks like the transmission connects to the block. I'm assuming rear main seal? Anyways you're guys opinion on this would be greatly appreciated.
Now for the pictures:

Yeah it is the rear main seal.
It's pretty common for them to leak. Just a bitch to change, maybe worth it to change the clutch while you're at it if need be.
I'd say go OEM for a replacement one, they are better quality and cheap enough.

I replaced mine when I did the timing chain... I had that same drip, very small amount of oil on the driveway, maybe a quarter sized spot after a night
I would recommend OEM also but I got a fel-pro seal from my local autoparts store for like 10 bux (friend hookup)
still fine 6 months later
HONESTLY
I would probably bring it to my mechanic to change this seal... I already had the motor out and the lower oil pan off, which gave me easy access,
but this is one of those really shitty and not fun car tasks

Expect to pay about $300 for the seal change if you go to a tranny shop.
Its an all day job.

So the rear main seal is actually a round gasket found inside the bellhousing correct? It is not a gasket that follows the outside contour of the bellhousing correct? it cannot be seen sandwiched between the bellhousing and the block in this picture right?

rear main seal is a ring shape seal... attatched to the block where the flywheel bolts are.
