SAFC Reading only from 15% Throttle and Up

After eliminating anything that would make my car bog and act like a fuel cut when at low throttle I found this out.

I would press the throttle from 1-15% and within that, the SAFC would show no throttle difference only until I hit a number past 15% throttle. I zero'd out my correction settings so thats not the case. I'm thinking it may be the TPS but since I dont have access to a multimeter I cant really dive into it.

Is there a way to reset the TPS?

The car has been sitting for around a month and didnt act up until trying to run it again.

In short, when I press anything less than 15% throttle the car pulls back hard like a fuel cut.

search, but i think if you start your car, then unplug the tps, let it idle for a few, then plug it back in, it might help. from what it sounds like, it sure as hell couldnt hurt:) Your tps can be adjusted, but you do need a voltmeter, only like 20 bucks at wal-mart.

Yeah the SAFC isn't the problem if it's reading everything else correctly. I'm pretty sure ^^^ is correct for resetting TPS, but if not, then unplug the TPS before starting the car, maybe that's it.

+1 on gettin a multimeter, they're actually like $9 at a hardware store or Radio Shack, and you'll need it.

There isnt any detailed topics dedicated to resetting your tps.

As far as the SAFC goes, I know it isnt the problem, its just showing me the problem.

I'm just trying to make sure the TPS would cause 100% of what I'm experiencing with the throttle. Considering if the TPS isnt telling the ECU anything until it hits 15% it would most likey be the TPS thats out of whack.

But once I get over that it runs fine. Idles fine too.

reset the TPS according to FSM and then reset the SAFC TPS settings, go get a multimeter =]

Well I went to a friends house and borrowed his multimeter.

However I've having difficulties understanding it. Its analog.

I dont have the instructions so I'm unclear on how to work the thing

DIGITAL MULTIMETER AT HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS. Dont get me wrong, I <3 my craftsman, but its freakin 1.99 on sale, and 3.99 for the BACKLIT version.

just grab one anywhere you can, they arent that expensive.

Since no one else is actually telling you what to do with the magic wand called a volt meter, its pretty simple.

Plug the TPS in, turn the key all the way into ON, so power is running through the harness, to sensors ecu etc. Find the Signal Wire for the TPS (which i belive is the White one) (there is a black , white and green with red strip typically on the 3 pin tps for s13 sr).

You want the Base voltage with the throttle resting closed to be: around .46-.49 volts

and you want the throttle voltage with you holding the Throttle all the way open with your foot, a friends foot or your hand to be:between 4.1-4.3 or so.

Some run 4.9, I like 4.2-3

Use a 7mm open end to loosen the little bolts up and turn the tps until both open and closed voltage are withing a 100th of a volt (or .0XX).

now go try that out and get back to us.

(BTW you can go into the AFC and use sensor sw check to see what all the voltages are without using a Voltmeter, but just get the voltmeter to get the raw output voltage and double check it anyways, some people say the voltages are diff in the AFC menu sensor check and the Volt Meter, but that hasnt been my experience so far).
