My car has Z32 TT calipers front and rear, blank rotors, SS lines front and rear, and brand new Axxis Ultimate brake pads all around, Z32 brake booster and Z32 MC. The brake pedal engages so stiff and high that my brake lights don't even come on before I come to a stop in normal everyday driving.
These calipers are off my wrecked TT, and I had used Axxis Ultimates previously on that car (no SS lines). It never felt like that. I know it's a ~700 lb difference, but I don't think that's what it is. I put the Z32 setup straight onto my 240 exactly as it came off my Z with the addition of SS lines, with the same used pads and all (these were different brand pads). The brakes felt great, they bit at the right time and pedal stiffness was good. Then I got new rotors and the Ultimates at the same time, and have too much bite. It has major front bias and I can lock up the front even on a mild emergency-oh-shit-the-light's-turning-red stop.
Anyone else had this experience? Maybe it's because of the added thickness of new pads AND new rotors? Or am I just going to have to switch to a different pad?
