i was trying to do some research on the nissan transmissions and i was wondering which is the strongest trans, the one that can hold the most horsepower, and also still have the capabilities of bolting up to the vg30dett engine?

im pretty sure the stock tt tranny must be pretty stout. You could probably make any tranny match up withe enough money for adapter plates & so on. What are your power level goals?

turbo 400 trans is very strong alot of the supra guys run them. They just have adaptor plates made. One of my buddies is running it in his is300 with a 2jz and it's a monster trans.

The auto TT tranny can hold up a good amount of abuse. I believe Charles from Powertrix is pushing around 550-600 at the crank with his drag TT and the auto tranny is holding up.

soo the TT trans is probably the best bet for the money-- i mean power wise im lookin @ over 600 hp @ the crank im lookin to make full drag car-- i kno maz works is running 9.-- seconds so i gotta shoot for lower. i kno its gonna take alot of time and $$$$ but i figure i start doin as much research and planning now.
its only gonna be a little while before there are 240's running 7-8 seconds. what about dog boxes? and how difficult would it be to have the turbo 400 trans to bolt to the vg? is that US trans?

Yes, they are different, but I don't think he was being serious.

You can modify some parts to work on both transmissions, but overall they are different. I believe the TH400 is newer as well.

The Z32 TT Transmission should be enough for the Thread Starters needs.

why do you need anything more than a 300zx tranny, really?

After spending countless hours researching the build for our demo car, AMS was right when they went with the Ford C4 Tranny built by Performance Automatics, Inc in Ivan's KA-T 240SX.

You take the VG Auto Bellhousing, have an adapter made, and it's a rather bolt-on affair.

The Ford C4 is what we will be using on the RB26 240SX later this summer, and is bulletproof up to about 1200whp.

sweet-c4 trans --and also i dont think the 300zx trans could handle over 700 hp--- im building a 240 drag car and i was going to use the vg motor-- but its still up in the air between the vg and vq... that was going to be my next ?

nissan automatics are shady, anyone who's ever had an automatic nissan knows that.

just get a TH400 or whatever and make an adapter plate.

I'm going to advise against the TH400, as they rob way too much HP.

Plus, they are way heavier than the C4 option.

Like I said, I've researched the options, and the C4 is the best option at the moment.

Z32 Tranny rebuilt with differnt stall should be A-ok. If a good trans shop that understands the torque you will be making.

or you could just buy a http://www.lencoracing.com/
