You got it.

So i was browsing the interweb, and was on OT, and I've noticed a ton of folks talkin about good reading material, one in particular caught my eye.

"No More Mr.NiceGuy" by Robert Glover.

Sounds exactly like it reads, but in a more helpful sense.

Sadly, I do fall into the category of Mr.NiceGuy, which sucks donkey dick.

Its a really great read, regardless of what side of the spectrum you hail from.

If you'd like a copy, feel free to PM me. Its only a 600KB PDF.

Or you could always buy it.

What are you Zilvians reading?

PS. You hate, you DIE!!!!!

I like to read star wars books. Im a dork, but its hard for me to read books that are informative with out being forced to. I pretty much like anything science fiction. I just got done reading a Bruce lee book though. That guy is crazy as hell. All his moves are to maim or kill. It was pretty good.

I like reading Buddhist books. I am currently reading "Minding What Matters" Psychotherapy and the Buddha Within. By Robert Langan. Pretty good.

Also, The Generals War is pretty good too. It is about the first Gulf War.

I'm currently reading 'Running With Scissors' by Augusten Burroughs. Just started it the other day, but it's been interesting so far. Kind of a kooky memoir. Just finished 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini. Very good book, but very sad. One of my favorite authors is David Sedaris. Very oddball, witty sense of humor. I highly recommend 'Me Talk Pretty One Day' or 'Dress Your Family In Corduroy And Denim'. I also enjoy sci-fi books, though I don't read a whole lot of them. One of my favorites is the Gateway trilogy by Frederick Pohl. Always enjoyed Robert A. Heinlein and Ray Bradbury for some classic sci-fi stuff.

If you want to learn how our modern society evolved, why some countries became wealthy while others remain impoverished, etc, I also recommend 'Guns, Germs, and Steel' by Jared Diamond. Another interesting history book I read recently is 'The Devil in the White City' by Erik Larson, which is about the 1896 World's Fair in Chicago and a serial killer that preyed on young tourist women nearby.

currently i'm reading....

Fast Food Nation (incredibly boring, i'm assuming it picks up later on, since it's a best seller and all)
Misery by Stephen King (pretty good so far, and you can pick it up at a used book store for about a quarter)

after i finish those, i want to read Darkly Dreaming Dexter, the book that the first season of the Showtime series was based on.

as for a good recommendation... pretty much anything by Chuck Palahniuk (he wrote Fight Club, and it makes the movie look like a joke). i highly recommend Survivor or Choke.

i just finished the Federalist Papers.

i don't do fiction... because i'm a boring person.

Yeah, Angels & Demons is a pretty good read, a lot better than the Da Vinci Code in my opinion. I don't think that Dan Brown is that great of an author, but he comes up with interesting stories. He's the author for the Ritalin Generation, all his chapters are about 4 pages long and every one ends in a cliff-hanger.

I haven't had time lately to read any books except for when I'm on a plane ride it seems.

I love the John Grisham books alot

One of my favorite books is "Gates of Fire." Pretty much like the movie 300 except of course more in detail.

History is always interesting to me. I read most of it during class, even if it was off the subject matter in class. You can never know enough about history.

Sci Fi:
Anything by Timothy Zahn is automatic win.
His star wars shit makes George Lucas look like a retard. Conqueror's Trilogy was also good

Fantasy:
A Song of Fire And Ice series by R.R. Salvatore is quality, but be prepared to go through 900 pages per book in an *on-going* series (into the 5th book IIRC0.

Michael Stackpole is a nice #2 author.

Office Humor:
Anything by Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert. He doesn't just do comics, he wrote a few books, if you've worked in an office you'll love it.

Other than that, I would highly, highly, highly recommend shifting gears over to graphic novels and picking up some trades by Brian K. Vaughn (writer of the current few episodes of LOST):

Pride of Baghdad
Y: The Last Man series
Ex Machina series

A couple of weeks ago my mom gave me a book called The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, so I started reading it and it's very interesting so far. It's fiction by the way.

forgot about The Historian. Read it last year and couldn't put it down. Think it's her first novel and it's great.

a few things:

Scott Adams books are pretty great. The Dilbert Principle is amazing. i'm not sure if he's done more than one, but he also writes non-humor books. God's Debris is a great, SHORT book on philosophy.

trades of Y: The Last Man are definitely worth the money. actually, pretty much anything put out by Vertigo is. i read 100 Bullets, Loveless, and American Virgin. other than that, the Max version of Punisher has never let me down, and i've recently started working my way through the Akira graphic novels, which blow the movie out of the water. movie's still great, though.

if you want some great scifi, you can't go wrong with a Neil Stephenson novel, starting, of course, with Snow Crash.

I love graphic novels, read the first few books of 100 Bullets and the story was very good.
Would also recommend:
Preacher
Hellblazer
Sandman
Fables
Sin City - duh!
V For Vendetta
Batman - The Dark Knight Returns
