Alright, who else was getting their cars filthy dirty at El Mirage last Saturday? We paid a little visit to a group of three 240s and I think a 2nd gen RX7 near the entrance. :keke:

I don't currently have a dash board or any a-pillar or seat belt track trim, and last time I went I smacked my tall passenger's head into the metal track. That passenger had already had a concussion one week before that and wasn't supposed to hit his head again for 2 weeks. So we wore helmets. Just in case.
You don't have to wear a helmet.
And no, we didn't get kicked out.

I used to enjoy riding dirt bikes out there until ass hats like you showed up. When you turn off the main road there is a huge sign that states to drive slowly and safely.

You ride your dirt bike slowly across a huge, completely flat lake bed? :goyou:
Go find somewhere with hills!

The point is the damage it can cause to the lake bed. I have seen too many ass hats out there doing donuts and screwing around which creates ruts that will eventually fill with water and just get worse. Keep in mind that lake bed has many uses including speed tests. All I'm saying is respect the rules that are in place. That way everyone can enjoy it.
P.S - You will eventually be ticketed for this, there are park rangers patrolling the area. Consider this me doing you a favor and saving you from a ticket.

We moved around to avoid tearing up the lake bed. Rutting it does no good for me, either.
I always watched for people on bikes, quads, and other cars, and more than once somebody ELSE drove straight towards and through the area we were using. I had my headlights on the whole time. We took up no more than 150 square yards at a time and didn't drive at unsafe speeds. This was not regular drifting practice - I'm a road racer - it was to learn how to recover a slide. We were aware of the rules.

I see nothing prohibiting the activity of power sliding if it's safe and not damaging the surface.

"This hard, smooth surface is ideal for the unique activities conducted at El Mirage. These include ultra-light aircraft and gyrocopter flying, model rocketry, remote control airplane flying, landsailing and straight track racing. Many private pilots land on the lakebed to spend the day."
Include, but not limited to. I didn't know small planes could land on it, that's pretty cool!
