NASA June 9/10 @ Buttonwillow

Who's going to the NASA event on June 9th and 10th at Buttonwillow? Saturday or Sunday?

Shit. Its just a few weeks away. I for some reason thought it was a month out and thought i had a break.

You guys wouldnt believe the day i had yesterday. I spent the entire day with NASA up at Streets of Willow for an invite-only Advanced Drivers Clinic.

Two run groups, the HPDE group was 12 cars and the Race group had 7. Each of us got transponders and a few were lucky enough to get QDATA GPS units with full track-map data aquisition. Each of us also received an assigned NASA instructor (some shared) that either critiqued your work at the corners or while in your passenger seat. Mad Dog-Mike was my instructor and i let him take the wheel for half a session. He was impressed with the setup, handling, braking, and acceleration and my car was the talk of the instructors. I have now promised a few ride-alongs at the next buttonwillow event.

The day was fucking AWESOME! 80degrees and basicaly on track every 30min for a 30min session. :2f2f: It was like 4 1/2hrs of track time in one day :2f2f:

n2motorsports, I'm only going on Saturday and I think the rest of the guys will be too. So come out with us on Saturday and you can rest up on Sunday. Make sure you get some sleep the night before this time, your the one with the longest drive out of all of us! :faint:

Mehsilvia, I'm not suprised at the Instructors reactions to your car. The setup on it looks good especially on track! Lucky guy with the private event invites!! So I'll be expecting to see you on Sat!! SNC240SX and I will be in HPDE3 class with you! :naughty:

Well considering you cant park on the grass :keke: those two areas fill up quick with the NASA instructors, plus they dont always allow parking around there so they can setup the impound lot (for tech and stuff). Place gets crazy, Buttonwillow is a popular one and the big dogs come out to play (big f'ing trailers).
Since ive got the trailer, ill drive the whole damn place to see if one or a few of you are already there. If i manage to get there first, ill be sure to park my big bitch across a few spots to reserve a Zilvia section.

This is gonna be awesome. So is everyone going in group 3?

Mehsilvia's map is a larger version of the center area of this map. This is the configuration we'll be driving, but counter clockwise. See where it says the drag strip by star mazda turn at the bottom right, that drag strip is the entrance lane from the street.

Yup yup, HPDE3 for me! Admin called me just right now too! "Hey, aren't you suppose to be in HPDE2 since you were in HPDE1 last time?" PUahahahaha...! I replied that John Matthews said I could! Right Sam?? You were there! LOL!!

Yeah he takes pics for both HiRev and us, but its all good, I already have a fresh rebuilt sr sitting in the garage so the car won't be down for too long. :wiggle:

Nothing major, I babied her home all the way... lol. The alignment and steering wheel was off, but I think its because the engine crossmember is bent that might have the steering rack at an angle.

Are you going to Big Willow for July 7/8 weekend? I wanna try to make it, but I have a few things to replace from this past weekends incident. :bash:
