And yes, that is the most violent trailer I've ever seen. It looks a little over the top IMO. The part when he shoots that guy with the Jeep mounted gun point blank...Holy crap. It was like clicking on Rotten.com.

p.s. Does Sly look a little pudgy to anyone else?

Wow that was intense, that was like the DOOM video game, berserker mode turning people into pieces of meat. This looks too much like the 2nd Rambo film but not too bad. The first one was probablly the best storywise.
And yeah I wish Stallone still had his tappered lean look from the 80s, he bulked up like crazy and his face look so Botoxed up now.

He had a machete. It's kinda like a knife, only bigger. Typically it is used for cutting vines and small trees that may block your path, but may be used from time to time to remove the limbs and heads of miscreants and evildoers.

saving private ryan set the standard for me... watching action movies that are not as detailed kind of ruin the picture.. unless they dont show anythign at all so you use your imagination.
Bruce Willis came back with die hard.. now Harrison Ford is comin back .. so would the story line of indiana jones have to mean it would take place around the 50s or 60s? i recall they took place around the 40s..

The other celebrities are alleged to be using 'roids...
Sly was stopped in the airport with HGH in his bag, this is confirmed. I, for one, do NOT find it disappointing, the man did what he needed to do to get himself in shape to be able to entertain us... If that means he needs to use steroids, then by all means let him.
Fuck, that applies to professional athletes as well, as entertainers, they should do what the fuck they need to do make their money. I mean, do YOU want to see a team of motherfuckers who are barely capable of the same shit you could do if you were out there, or do you want a running back who runs a 4.4, do you want 450-foot home runs and monstrous slam dunks? I know I enjoy the latter, so up with dope!

This movie was so full of awesome it was unbelievable! Good for Sly being able to come back and make sequels to both Rambo and Rocky that didn't suck.
I was SO much happier with the blood and violence in this movie then I thought I was going to be. It was slightly cheesy, but man it worked so well.
I can't even say what my favorite part was. Maybe the arrow in the head, the WWII bomb explosion, or the scene with Rambo on the 50 cal!

I'm going to disagree with you here. Roids are cheating, no different than hacking a computer game to play better. I could really care less what actors and celebs do to succeed. I do want athletes to have some integrity and play the game to the best of their natural abilities. People like Bonds would not break the records they broke and dominate the way they do with out roids.

^here you go.............
my buddy's dad is going to interview sly for a local chicago magazine, thats how i found out about this.
VARIETY.COM:
After a recent resurgence with sequels "Rocky Balboa" (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Film/main/150583/Rocky%20Balboa.html?dataSet=1) and the upcoming "Rambo, (http://javascript<b></b>:zodInfuser.FillDescriptions('"Rambo"');)" Sylvester Stallone is taking aim at an MGM remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson starrer "Death Wish. (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Film/main/79502/Death%20Wish.html?dataSet=1)"
Stallone is in talks to direct and star as an ordinary man who goes vigilante after his wife and daughter are attacked. Set to write the script are Michael Ferris (http://javascript<b></b>:zodInfuser.FillDescriptions('Michael Ferris');) and John Brancato (http://www.variety.com/profiles/people/main/205246/John%20Brancato.html?dataSet=1), whose credits include "Terminator 3" (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Film/main/31348/Terminator%203%3A%20Rise%20of%20the%20Machines.htm l?dataSet=1) and "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins."
Paramount Pictures (http://javascript<b></b>:zodInfuser.FillDescriptions('Paramount Pictures');) controls some "Death Wish" rights and has an option to partner. MGM will make the pic whether or not Par opts in, and if a writers strike is settled in short order, MGM will try to start production before March. Stallone's partner, Kevin King (http://javascript<b></b>:zodInfuser.FillDescriptions('Kevin King');), will be a producer.
Stallone showed surprising box office punch with "Rocky Balboa," which grossed $80 million domestic and $150 million worldwide. MGM distributed that film after splitting the $24 million production budget with Sony and Revolution Studios (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Company/main/2008186/Revolution%20Studios.html?dataSet=1).
"Death Wish" fits squarely into MGM's long-term strategy of assembling tentpoles based on a 4,100-title library that encompasses post-1985 MGM fare plus UA, Orion, Polygram, Samuel Goldwyn (http://www.variety.com/profiles/people/main/446857/Samuel%20Goldwyn.html?dataSet=1) and Cannon titles.
"We are looking at our library to determine which potential franchise properties make the most sense for us to produce, and 'Death Wish' was clearly one of that jumped out," said MGM chief operating officer Rick Sands (http://www.variety.com/profiles/people/main/907022/Richard%20Sands.html?dataSet=1). "We hope to get a deal done with Sylvester Stallone to direct and star, and like the 'Rocky' and 'Rambo' films, we see this as another potential franchise for him."
exitspeed
02-04-2008, 01:22 PM
I started doing some research and found this:
Says Stallone, "I'd like to get your feedback on the idea of remaking Death Wish with a slightly different slant. Instead of the Charles Bronson character being an architect; my version would have him as a very good cop who had incredible success without ever using his gun. So when the attack on his family happens, he's really thrown into a moral dilemma in proceeding to carry out his revenge."
Hell to the NO on that idea.
Then I found this:
Update : Upon listening to the talkback responses on AICN, many who turned their nose at the idea of a remake, Stallone tells the site today that he will NOT be doing the movie. Yep, he listened to the fans!
Tell your friend I want the scoop!
jackjack
02-04-2008, 01:25 PM
yeah. apparently he's asking EVERYONE what they think of the idea. i like the fact that he's actually interested in feedback. its still up in the air. we'll see.

You know it's like a switch.. I just turn my hat around and then BAM! Ya kno? I just go over the top...
I loved John Rambo.. Such a great movie and I loved how they didn't pussy foot the effects of a .50 BMG... The bullet travels with such velocity it doesn't even have to hit you to kill you..

I admit I had never seen them, but AMC has having marathons of all the movies so I started watching'em. I sawy part 3 and 4. HOLY FUCK are those TERRIBLE movies. Just terrible. They got like one star.
Then I was reading that only the first one was any good. So I finally caught it, and yea, much better.
I'd really like to see a remake of that.
I dunno about Over the Top though. That movie was cool as hell. I liked how they had interviews of them in the movie.

Rambo is the baddest mfkr that is walking the planet.
& his veins have nothing to do with growth hormones or any drug for that matter. your veins get bigger along with your muscles. it increases blood flow, which increases the amount of oxygen that go to your muscles to help them grow..

It's cool.
I thought that they were going to fuck them all up during the party scene to save those other girls, but I guess not.

great movie. my only complaint was that it was a bit too short, and not as much grandeur of pt.3, with blowing up soviet gunships etc. the drama/acting was a little cheesy, but that just adds to the enjoyment of a rambo film.
still, it was amazingly intense. I really hope there's going to be another sequel, done with the same formula, possibly with more stuff blowing up. I havn't had my fill of Rambo. with luck, he'll be fighting the commies again.

I finally saw the movie. I had several "holy shit!" moments. Overall I liked the movie and I feel Stallone played the aging Rambo part well.

I rented it the other night, shit is awesome.
Stallone needs to stop acting and just produce sweet bloody violent action flicks.
Does anyone know the going rate for a jeep mounted .50 cal?
