I've been thinking about the practically useless rear seat in my S13 and was wondering what I could do with the space if I took my rear seat out. With a custom floor set up, you could make the surface run flat all the way from the rear of the car to the back of the front seats. This would leave some room underneath where feet would normally go for subs/battery relocation/nitrous, whatever floats your boat. I know it would be a decent amount of work to fabricate something like that, but does anybody think it's possible? Or has somebody already thought of this and done it? It seems like a perfect spot to put something rather heavy since it wouldn't affect weight distribution much. Anyway, I think it would be pretty trick if done right. Now...discuss.

The rear seat's actually pretty easy to remove. It's just a few bolts and lifts right out. For something heavy, you could put it back there...but putting the battery in the trunk actually helps the weight distribution a bit.
(actually, I've heard something about using motorcycle batteries or something like that...just in the OE battery mounting spot. They're really light and small. Has anyone done this, or have information on it?)

That sounds like a drag race trick and something I would avoid on the street, especially if you are running lots of stereo equipment.
I better idea would be to get an actual lightweight battery that is half as heavy as a typical battery. Same cold cranking amps, but with less weight penalty. Those aren't cheap though, but I do believe they're safer (if you ever do a battery relocation).

I have a low profile SVR battery. It's pretty small....pretty $$ too, though. I can't really give my opinion cause I just started up the SR a few days ago and haven't really driven it yet....(long story)
I can give you more info on the battery if ya want...just lemme know

Aren't most motorcycle batteries only 6-volt? Meanwhile, I have the SVR slim battery with the trunk relocation kit. Very small and out of the way. Of course, everything comes at a price. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Please don't ask me how much, because I am embarrassed to say. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
