today we had a dyno day using a dyno dynamics dyno and i dynoed 278hp which seems way off for my setup so im asking if dyno dynamics always read low which seem to be what im finding out, heres my setup:

s13 sr
2871r .86 at 18psi
hks step 1 264 cams
555 injectors
z32 maf
enthalpy tune
and all other bpu's

the thing is last year i dynoed 270whp with just a t28 and stock everything which is about right, so whats the deal with that, should i go back to the dyno i first used, i think it was a mustang dyno

they read low supposedly,
like dynojet reads high,
some say to calculate crank, divide by 85% (drivetrain loss) for dynojet whereas dyno dynamics divide by 80%
i'm getting 260 from dyno dynamics, and i'm trying to get a dyno from dynojet just to see if the difference...

it's just me, but i'd run 740cc's with your setup, i don't know, i just don't like the idea of maxing the injector duty cycle when i know the turbo can handle so much more... (and a retune from enthalpy, which shouldn't be too much...)

could be your tuning...a good set up is nothing without a proper tune

my buddy has a program to read duty cycle via the consult port just havent used it yet just seems like the dyno is way off

Couldn't agree with you more. We're running the same setup on our track car (same as SampleSurf) minus the hks step 1 cams & enthalpy tune @ 16psi making close to 300whp and our 555cc injectors are @ 100% duty cycle.

welcome to the world of dyno dynamics... its a heartbreaker.

get used to the unusually low numbers for high mods, my car made 419 on a dd, but made 465 on a dynojet. apples to oranges :)

make sure your fuel pump is up to the task if your running higher fp to compensate for high duty cycles, which you should be doing

thanks for the replies guys i think im gonna go back to the dyno i first used next week to see exactly what an increase i got
