I was told to use regular 10w40 and cheap spark plugs for the first 500miles after the swap.  A lot of gunk and other crap come out.  After the 500miles, put in the good stuff, synthetic.

P.S.  There was a post a while back saying that synthetic in the long run isn't great and wastes money.  I would go with the synthetic though.

Thanxs kanekz IMO i would do the same even though its does cost money. I would only want the best for my sr20 when i do get one. Also who changes the oil some oil shop or what?

Why would you pay someone to change your oil after you've done a motor swap? Anyone can do an oil change. It's the same thing on pretty much every car. The only difference is the filter placement.

"Technical questions" belong in tech talk.

Exactly what she said! &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'> &nbsp;I do my own oil changes. &nbsp;

P.S. &nbsp;Please recycle your old oil. &nbsp;Take it to Kragen, they do it for free. &nbsp;Don't dump it in the drain &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'> &nbsp; I want my great grand kids to live on clean earth. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
