Yea it's just a show car and it's a VW, but shit...this thing is freakin BA!

I'd like to add that I'm not a VW fan even a little bit.

Courtesy of Autoblog:

It would appear that the Audi TT clubsport was just an appetizer for the fans at the Wörthersee 2007 meet in Austria. Volkswagen has upped the ante by throwing down a stunner: the Golf GTI W12 650 concept. The ultimate GTI in every way, this car has a claimed top speed of 325 km/h -- 201 mph! -- and a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) of 3.7 seconds.

This is a pure show car, so don't go running to your VW dealer waving around a fistful of cash. He won't be able to help you. Too bad, though, as this super Golf dishes out a mammoth 650 horsepower and over 530 ft lbs of torque from the 6.0L biturbo W12 it's got mounted behind the front seats. All that juice flows through a 6-speed automatic to the rear wheels, which are shod in some seriously meaty rubber.

Lower and wider than a stock GTI, the body retains the production car's doors, hood and lights, but otherwise it's all new. A number of intakes and a redesigned C-pillar help feed air to the 12-cylinder behemoth supplying the go-power. To keep the car planted to the tarmac, VW didn't want to use a massive spoiler to generate downforce. As such, the car's carbon-fiber roof acts as a giant diffuser that funnels air under the small spoiler at its trailing edge. In summary, the whole thing is a big exercise in the awesome.

AWD and a stick would increase BA-ness by many percents. Regardless it's still really cool.

Not a fan of the wheels but the rest of the car looks badass. I like the rear bumper area alot, has sort of a Ferrai feel to it.

Thats one big pile of shit. While the engineering behind it MAY be nice, I still think that everything.. and I mean EVERYTHING about VW = shitballs.

Actually, I like the styling.. if thats anything worth writing home about, of cars like the old classic GTI and the Corrado. However, during the 90s the GTIs looked like shoes and lost their rawness... like MOST cars have.

Just incase you fuckers havent noticed, most manufacturers dont make cars like the OLD E30 M3... one of the purer sportscars of the time. Everybody has turned to selling gadgets, most of which look good on paper but lose when it comes to the raw-factor.

You know, after reading my own post.. I'de like to add some detail to what I was trying to say.

I meant to say, I like the styling of SOME of the VW's, for instance the older GTI and the Corrado, or some of the more current GTIs arent bad (like the current body of the one above, MINUS all that ducting bullshit). However, most of the 90's VW's look like fuckin baby shoes..

As for the above car, the wheels look like shit, the bumpers look like cookie monster's mouth spread open, and the ducts.. look like anus. Oh, I have one good thing to say about the car now though - its not FWD. Yeah, thats probably a good thing...

i have a question. why dont they show the actual motor and its beautiful install? that would impress me more than these fucking glamour shots.

serious, this reminds me of those porn sites where the girls LOOK like they're going to strip, fuck, suck, etc... but they do nothing. in the end, you're lucky to see some damny titty.

show me the fucking car, enough with all the over-hyped glamour shots.
