im running an all stock ka24e on my 90 hatch. im thinking about getting some apexi n1 duals. will they just be bolt on right from the box onto my car? or will i need some other things or welding done?

that is the worst exhaust system ever
weights a million pounds and that sound is so so
but it iwll bolt up like stock
just slow your car down because u just put a fat chick under your car.
congrats.

Yes it's a direct bolt-on for the catback.

Ive had the dual n1, its kind of played out, but yes it will bolt
right up. Look up the group buy on Apexi hybrid megaphones, i just got in
on that.

it should bolt on with no problems whatsoever
i'd just get a custom exhaust but hey..who cares about what i want

+1 on the weight and so-so sound. I had this exhaust on my S14. Really fucking heavy and not worth it IMO.
I went with the HKS hi-power on my S13 and it rocks! Direct bolt on, all hardware for mounting came with it, really light weight design, and it sounds bad ass...

I love the way it sounds on my sr, and it wasn't too loud on the ka either. But it does weigh a ton. If i were to go back and do it again, i'd get a different exhaust, something that's all stainless.

how many pounds we talking here? (extra than stainless) can't be a big difference...
get it, sounds great IMO, and great ground clearance, no big fart can to scrape with

Its weighs a ton and hangs low. Mine is off of my car at the moment because I snapped the front two hangers off from grounding it while driving around. On a lowish car, I'd search for something else.
That said, I like the way it sounds on my NA KA and provides a much better powerband than anything else I have had on the car.

don't know how many pounds, but considering it's a dual system, you have to figure that it weighs nearly twice as much as a single-canister system. And my stainless comment wasn't in reference to weight, but durability. The N1 dual is mild steel, and some people have seen theirs rust through.

iirc it is 5 pounds more than stock, somebody scaled it one time

My n1 duals were 7 pounds heavier than my stock exhaust, but it might have had somethign to do with extra hangers I welded on since Apexi ones always break.

I've seen 2 ppl with N1 Duals rusted at the low point where water can build up.
What I find funny is that the N1 dual was THE EXHAUST people wanted 5 years ago, and now it's "played out". *sigh* oh well, the same could be said about my S13-S15 conversion, but I refuse to change the look of my car based on "asthetic trends".
If you like it, Rock it....
...but in this case, watch our for rust and be aware of the weight difference.

There are other dual systems on the market right? I say shop around before you get the Apexi and look for something that is fully stainless . . .

pfff. token zilvia bandwagon dart izumi/greddy dd exhaust. forget buying it, that's easier and cheaper custom. unless you feel the need to be JDM. :hsdance:

thanks for the info, i didnt know that the duals weighed so much. i like the way they look and all but i dont want to weigh my car down. hmm... i better start looking into other exhausts see wut i can do. as for custom exhaust i can get that done cuz my uncle has a muffler shop but then... straight piping sucks if you get pulled over and i live in cali. ill take a look into the hks hi-power hearing some good stuff from the poll section and maybe some other exhausts.

if you ever want to upgrade your car wait or get a custom exhaust i have a 3" turbo back custom exhaust with my sr,, there may be some back pressure issues with the n/a ka. i'm no mechanic, but personally even if you think you might do some stuff to your car be sure to keep those specs in your mind when buying exhaust...example: motor swap, nitrous ka-t anything that might require some more flow.

5 pounds may not sound like much (honestly, I think the difference is greater than that, it's like a 40 pound exhaust), but it stretches out your hangers and sags. I even have polyurethane hangers and it still hangs too low. I need to get under there and put some hose clamps on the hangers.

Yeah the overall weight of the N1 Dual is alot, around 45 pounds IIRC. Plus the weld job is a crapshoot, there's welded brackets and braces that will just break randomly, no fun. As far as the hanging low problem, just get Nismo hangers. I got them for my N1 dual and they held it in nice and tight. The same hangers work very well on my HKS hi-power now! Worth the 15 bucks a pop.
Oh and to stop this before it goes any lower, there's no issues with backpressure on the NA KA, with any exhaust. It's been discussed on here more times than Chmercer's choice of style. :p

I had that exhaust for a week. Damn gay ass piece of shit.
Hangar will break. Sounds like ass. Looks like ass, fits like ass, weighs as much as a fat ass chick, and rusts. SWEET!
That shit was rubbing against my driveshaft. Then slappng my diff. Before nubs coming in telling me it was my exhaust bushings, it wasn't. The fail and aids award goes to Apexi and their Dual craps.
Buy some Trust DD's or something if you need to go dual. Those are sex in the form of dual exhaust. Not some crap cans.
Yes, it will bolt up, as long as you get the exhaust for your chassis.

yea the n1 dual is heavy as shit.. my bushings wore out to slinky like consistancy. replaced the bushings with poly, now the car handles better cuz the exhaust doesnt swing around so much hahaha, oh yea, that and all the welds are rusted, along with the weld from piping to muffler and the seams of the muffler where the fore mentioned are.. pos? mehh.. i like it.. sounds good on an SR, good power band.. several years old, and its gonna stay on the car.. i cant afford new exhaust :)

Yeah they are kinda heavy but the extra weight is worth the sound, look and performance you get from it. I sold my s13 so im selling the exhaust, so if anyone wants it let me know.
