Fitment is TERRIBLE
my car: nismo motor mounts, s14 SR20DET in S13 chassis
hood hits the valve cover
had to space up the rear to make the hood not hit the whole cover
had to cut a notch in the hood so wont hit the front of the valve cover
and had to take out my hood prop piece (right of radiator)
and i couldnt use the hood latch! boo!
and right side of hood sits a bit up
quality is decent
everything bolted up as far as stock bolts and such go
but fitment is TERRIBLE
TERRIBLE
not recommended
but it definitely looks badass! haha

aaron,
should've ask me 1st about it.
richard praise bought the 1st one that came in last year.
didn't fit very well so I didn't post it up for sale.
it's not bad for a track car, but not recommend for street or picky guys.
cheers,
sam

Have the S13 Silvia one. I agree with fitment problems, as I needed a couple of washers on the hinges to "raise up". Other than the clear going south, and the corners cracking a bit (left out in the south texas sun daily for the last 2 years), it does its job.

...well at least it looks cool.

this is a little ot but, why dont they have something under the vents so water doesnt go right onto your engine and wiring?
CAll them tell them about the hood man.. take pictures of it because same shit has happened with me.. on another car.. they actually let me keep the hood and sent me a new one.. thats some bs on that fitment. If they don't do that your best bet is some hood pins to get good fitment.
Dousan_PG
05-13-2007, 08:32 PM
i KNEW it didnt fit
but for 250 bucks local pick up, find me something better!Haha
ORIGIN i can get 'cheap'but shipping and stuff....
BN Sports....dont get me startd, i should have had one 5 months ago (Yusef!!)
haha
i got hood pins
going on next week
i really dont care
ill end upfucking up my car anyways.
no show car!
water WILL NOT touch my wiring
i dont know how many times i must go thru this on decent vented hoods
it drops all in front
and the only wiring i have are up on the intak mani and the CAS
both of which will be cool
i might cover the CAS
but ...i live in california
only drive to the track..
raining is...next to no worries.
i washted it today, no problems .

From the front...
It sits damn high, looked like the hood wasn't molded to curve down on either side
Thanks for the review

Sorry Dousan.
chmercer
05-14-2007, 11:58 AM
for 250 why dont you just let it mash into the vc?
...seriously
Dousan_PG
05-14-2007, 11:58 AM
haha no worries jack
i knew what i was getting into!
im not cutting my hood latch
ill get a BN hood
but this hood is still way cooler then a stock s13 hood
haha
and for the price....i really dont care.
because it will vibrate and crack, mercer.

I remember posting up that hood on a hood thread and a member responded with pics of how shitty the hood fit.
Drive it hard watch it rip off. be done with it.

if you do come across another hood aaron... i'll buy that hood from you... i like having your hand-me-downs.... :) (eg. kouki side steps)
ps... i thought you like metal hoods?
Dousan_PG
05-14-2007, 12:28 PM

man.
i wonder where they are manufactured
tacotacotaco
05-14-2007, 04:48 PM
Probably made in cockeyed central, right next to knockoffville, in cheap county.

05-14-2007, 09:47 PM
this is good to know,
so i don't buy this product,
they probably don't even have r&d at all,
just bunch of eye measurements,
by probably a bunch of chinese guys,
who require corrective lens but they don't know they need it, lol

The hood looks awesome. I love where the vent location is. Plus it's FRP. But the fitment wasn't good at all, workable, but I'm lazy.
So I would like to thank Dousan for taking it off my hands and I know that he's going to make it look badass where as I couldn't. **sigh**
Dousan_PG
05-14-2007, 10:41 PM
yeah the vent locatio is great
thats the main reason why
i dont mind the hood propped on back
just the valve cover hitting and fact i cant use hood latch sucks
but beyond that, i seriously dont even care
like i said, could be worse.....could be stock.

probably not worth the trouble but maybe a heat gun and a little muscle will correct the corners.
Dousan_PG
05-14-2007, 11:17 PM
hood pins will fix it just fine
but yes heatgun and FRP work together like penises and vaginas

i honestly might buy one of these crappy hoods.
I mean it might look a little better with my gay ass east bear style head light kit rather than the pop ups and im popping on a 180sx style front bumper too.
should i just contact tc sportline direct?
im tossing the idea around in my head, im far from picky, if its light, it works and its not totally flimsy then i dont really care. I need to cut the cars wieght down a little and it might aid in getting some heat out of the engine bay at wsr
Yeah, I have a hood like this, probably same company
fits like garbage
cool vents...has that rear vent lipped up in the back like the origin hoods...but different

The east bear lights will make your car looks WORSE.
Because the gaps behind the headlights will be even MORE apparent.

picky people = me.
that bbq hood and its horrible fitment makes me sick.
the flakes, well.. yeah.. i really think its horrible.
seriously, i dont think people care about fitment anymore. if its 2mm gap, 5mm gap, 30mm gap, 30000mm gap.. its ALL good.
even loose vagina is accepted nowadays.
Dousan_PG
05-23-2007, 01:57 PM
^^^ i agree
making the best of what i got
but a better hood will be on its way shortly.
as far as the sparkle, some people didnt like it 3 years ago when we first did it, some dont like it not
not building cars to satisfy others.
anyways
u should see my HID. hahahaha
you will hate me.
loose vagina is still vagina.
some will settle for roast beef vagina.
but not me, sir. not me.

fuckin aaron. serious, i think the only reason i dont bash your car (or lindsays), is because both of you are just really cool, down to earth folk. you do this shit for the jazz, NOT for the fuckin hype.. like the majority of these cocksucking newbies.
your cars are the epitome of what i dont like; the bizarro-mamos car, if you will. everything i want my car NOT to be, is what your cars are. they look great in some way, and i am almost 100% sure i'll hate them when i see them up close and in real life. actually, i think i DID drive your car and/or lindsays waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in the day.. they were interesting, but again.. bizarro cars.
this is like a will ferrell / vince vaughn moment: "i hate you Ron Burgundy, but gaddamnit... I RESPECT YOU."
now richard's JDM-rice v1.0... was awesome. till this fuckin day, that has to be the best s13 ever - hands down. my site gets so much traffic on that gallery, STILL to this day. its the best s13 ive ever driven. EVER.

ps: your hid doesnt bother me, because ill never see it.
