Since I came to Iraq I smoke Galoises Lights a turkish cigarette that costs 5 dollars a carton!!! Smoking on the cheap!!! I'll never quit as long as I'm over here, haha!

I started with 501 Bidis (they might have been 301). Then I graduated to Camel Lights. I was into 'ports for a brief time. Then I found Export A's - they used to have a calendar on the back of the pack in English and French. I smoked them until I saw that they turned my fingers yellow, so I went back to Camels.

I also like Parliament Lights, and I remember when the filter was perforated so you could tear it off to be more of a man (it now has "perforation" painted on). I've seen people use the "patented recessed tip" as a tooter in bars.

I'd have to say that Camel Lights are my favorite. Unlike Marlboro lights, they have a colored filter so if you are really, really drunk at a very crowded table in Vegas you can't light the wrong end, thus making an ass of yourself.

I remember this shirt from desert shield/storm. Some guy at my school had it and I thought it was hilarious.

But I haven't smoked since New Year's. Like booze, I've found that the only way I can control it is by not putting it to my lips. I'm like Larry Bird: "I can't just have one."

I still love cigarettes. I love the taste, I love the feel of inhaling, I love the feeling of exhaling and I love blowing it in the face of people who do that fake cough on the street. I used to love the novelty of going to other states where you can smoke everywhere. And I would do just that. I don't mind if other people smoke around me, in fact I encourage it because I love the smell of a freshly lit cigarette.

They were able to pass this law because they declared second hand smoke a "public nuisance." When I would smoke in public, I was very mindful of others and did my best to be considerate. If people 10 feet away from me are affected by my secondhand smoke, then they should ban shitty perfume, too.

Davis made national headlines when they passed the first public smoking ban. I spent 5 years in that hamlet and smoked the whole time. I chain smoked on the patio (RIP) at Paragon (RIP), G Street and the Grad and cops stood right next to me. The law stated that you could not smoke within 20 feet of a doorway. The loophole is that you can smoke by a doorway if you are walking, so just pace while you smoke.

Of course, the ultimate irony of that town was you couldn't smoke in public, but you could legally DRINK ON THE STREET because they (at the time) had no law against open containers. It makes me wonder about their priorities.

Alcohol is addictive. Drunk driving is a huge problem in this country. Alcoholism destroys families. People can actually die from alcohol if they drink enough. Should we ban alcohol?

We're talking about personal liberty here. The right to choose whether to smoke or not. I don't need the government telling me what to do in my own home. Rather than legislate it, they should just tax it out of existence.

They banned smoking in restaurants. I'm okay with that.
In the workplace. That's fine.
Bars. It sucks, but it's fine.
Pretty much any indoor public space. That's fine, I enjoy smoking outside anyway.
But in my house and in my car??? That's infringement of my rights. That contradicts the concept of a man's home being his castle.

Here in CA, we have all these crazy laws (like smog) because we have sooo many people that without them things would fall apart. Although I don't agree with most of those laws, I see their merit. But banning smoking like that is going too far.

The thing about California is: cigarette smoking (a taxed legal activity) is slowly becoming illegal, yet smoking marijuana (an untaxed federally controlled substance) is slowly becoming legal.

At least chron helps people with glocoma (sp), hemp is a very strong fiber, and the money the gov could make off of legally selling marijuana would be ridiculous. I would love to go down to my local walgreens to pick up 1.7 grams of gov. produced chron. The THC % would be over 20 and my cannaboid receptorcites would love it

Cigarettes are bad for you? I thought they had vitamin C in them.

Nobody disputes the fact that smoking in any amount is not good, but legislation like that is what's stupid. What's next to be banned? I think it sets a bad precedent. Banning/controlling secondhand smoke is one thing. What they did in Belmont is different.

For the record, I smoked from 4/94 - 2/2/02 and I never understood why potheads hate on cigarettes so much.

Yes, thc MAY have some medicinal benefits (hence schedule 2 status), but you are still burning something and that puts carbon in your body. If that doesn't cause cancer, I don't know what does. How do you know you're not smoking nade?

You don't really need a humidor.

Next time you come into some cigars that you aren't going to smoke right away, just get a gladware box for them and store them with a piece of well-scraped/washed orange peel. The orange peel will gradually release humidity. Change it out once every 2-3 weeks and the cigars will keep for a LONG time.

Make sure there isn't a bunch of orange fruit flesh left on the peel though, because then your cigars will just taste like fucking jolly ranchers.

on a nice summer night, we'll go to the beer garden and i'll pick up a couple cigars on the way, and i rarely pay more than $3-4 for any single cigar. jesus christ.

Thing to watch out with Thompson is that they put their house brands in some of the combo packs. Basically worthless but, you can get some deals with them in it. Just have to count them as zero when you calculate the value of the deal. Nice to have around when a friend just wants to look cool. Most of the 2nds I get are better then them.
