anyone into hookah?

Well me and my roommate have had a hookah for awhile, and i cant find any really really good shishah (hookah tobacco). I have found some alright stuff, but i want quality. I was wondering if anyone was into hookah and knows good websites to order shishah off of or areas near tacoma or seattle. I want stuff so strong it tastes like biting into fruit or pie lol..thanks!!

Im into it, The trick is cut fruit and mix it your self. Make sure you dont burn it so it have flavor.

because you cant smoke pie or fruit, i havent tried but common sense tells me it wouldnt work. Plus i enjoy the act of smoking hookah, and it gives my teeth a nice break from eating sweets.

We use apples and cut out the core and place the shishah inside. works great!! the flavor is awesome and smooth. If your in UCLA, Westwood area anytime you should check out Gypsy cafe' it's by far one of the best hookah bar that I have found in So Cal. I have a Hookah, but I haven't used in a while.

It's no fun smoking by yourself; smoking the hookah is definitely a social thing. I just wish it was a little stronger (probably haven't tried the right tobacco).

If you're looking to buy one, don't buy one at a brick-and-mortar store. Way overpriced.

Go online and research some of the vendors.

No. Hookah smoke is much denser and lasts longer. A session between two people lasts anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

I don't get the same buzz as I do smoking cigs either.

i used to hookah quite a lot because i live in an area that has a persian market w/ good hookah tobacco. =D hookah was one of those phases where id get all hyped up about something and then soon get over it.
my advice is to pack it, and if you are going to mix flavour, be sure to add some mint(its key for making good mixes).

Stick with Al Fakher or Al Amir. Once you get decent tobacco the trick is in how you make the head. You want it all plucked properly with no stems, not packed too tight, and a good hole design. Once you add the foil and prick all the holes blow into the bottom of the head. Coal placement on the head also makes a huge difference. It all depends on what size head and coal you have. Last but not least try to clean the hose every couple heads or if you switch flavors a lot.

ive got 2 hookahs, one single hose and one dual hose...its good to just fire up the hookah, chill, drink and talk shit with friends when u dont feel like going out...have u tried putting ice in the water? makes it feel less harsh when hitting it and makes the smoke a lot thicker then usual...

as mentioned above, if u go to local hookah bars (authentic mediterranian) most of them will sell you the tabacco that they use, which is usually good quality but expect to pay somewhere around $20-$40 depending on the size of the tub, and always keep ur tabacco refrigerated after use

Fuck yeah, I love hookah! I used to smoke all the time back in the old rental condo. Not so much these days, I go out to a lounge if anything.

Fellow Hookah smokers should like this... I was getting tired of drunk guests knocking over my hookah and breaking the clay bowl. Also it annoyed me that when you set the hookah on the table, you can't see the person sitting across from you. So my solution was to make this thing....

Materials

One dining table belonging to your roommates with an extra leaf
Piece of sheetmetal, the same size as a CD about 6" round
Tools: A dremel, metal shears and a drill, drill bit and a 2" hole saw
A piece of plexiglass about 6" round and 1/4" thick
Some recessed allen head screws
Optional: LEDs, resistors, potentiometer/dimmer and a junk low-volt transformer. Total rice/bling but oh-so-cool when the lights go out.

Yeah I hookah like once a week.
Best brand I have had so far is Nahkla, it's fairly cheap and probably one of the only tobaccos that actually gives a lot of flavor.

Sounds like one of my other waterpipes....... lol Clear silicone will repair any cracked or broken water chamber pretty good. I guess you could use RTV but that would look extremely ghetto haha. You're sposeta mix the shisha with hashish, give it a try sometime. Smoking straight herb doesn't work very well imo, the bowl is too big and the charcoal doesn't burn it very well. I guess it's alright if you have some excess midgrade shit though.

It tasted like an orange creamsicle. Which is one of the best tastes EVER. Its also pretty easy to make in other situations.

Vanilla coke and orange soda, a little bit of non-dairy in your OJ. Hookah. etc.

Yeah, I've put a bunch of stuff other than water in the hookah.

Wine - alright. Not great.

Sprite - Weird. Kinda prickly, like you can feel the carbonation.

Sprite mixed with Malibu Passionfruit rum - Awesome!

Dole Orange Banana juice - Not bad.

Tobacco combos:

Mint and Apple: Good

Mint and Peach: Great!

Most of the time, if I don't feel adventurous I just stick to Mint. Good flavor and the smoke is nice and dense. I've found that a lot of the fruit flavored tobaccos produce a shitty, thin smoke.

This thread half tempts me to bring my hookah out of storage and put it up in my barracks room. But I can just imagine the reaction of some ignorant Sergeant Major would have if he saw that thing...

Props on the Hookah table, too. That thing is bad ass. Definitely going to be a project when I get my house.
