So there have been quite a few wildfires right around Gainesville. There are some 16,000 acres burning right outside of the county. With that in mind, it's been crazy smokey here. I've seen multiple people wearing doctors mask's to stop from inhaling the fumes. On my way home from work there was less than a half mile of visibility and the sun looked blood red. I took some pictures of it to share with everyone.

That's not a rain cloud, that's smoke.

You can almost see the ash on the windshield. It's been raining ash all day.

Yeah it was yellow foggy here until around 3pm,then it turned gray with some ash, and then it cleared around 6pm. I woke up and was like "wtf it is fucking yellow." I thought the apocalypse was coming or some shit.

We had a brush fire in the median on the interstate. A 15 mile stretch got closed down. In other words, traffic on all the other roads went into straight up hellllllll. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to do a drive that is usually 25-35 minutes. I was extremely late to class and not very happy. Good day!

Yeah, apparently the fire is headed for Alachua from Bradford. Thank god I'm close to the city, should be fine. A quarter of Gainesville would have to be destroyed before it got to my place.

I have to work on the SR tomorrow too, hopefully it will stop raining ash before then.

I was in florida last week. And im not sure what was going on exactly. But in the orlando area, there was smoke everywhere. Literally i walked into a record shop, the sky was so clean, i bought a couple cd's, walked outside, and i couldnt see anything that was about half a mile away.

I dont know if that was part of these wild fires or not, but it sure was thick, and it covered a good portion of the city. My eyes were on fire the rest of the day, that shit sucked.

Yeah, once the wind shifts it can get dark quick. We went to get coffee at work and everything was fine, within 20-30 minutes after getting back it got really dark and ash was falling from the sky.

I thought I saw them from my house. I live on the marsh and get the sunset in the backyard and it looked crazy.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a fire between Gainesville and Orlando. Actually, I think my father said there was somewhere, he has a truck route that runs from Jacksonville to Orlando. Not exactly sure where though.

There were actually no wild fires...It was just the annual BBQ cook off in the backwoods of Georgia.

^^^Haha, nice

Took these on my way to work today. Fiance said before I left "That's not fog outside." And she was right.

I haven't been down there in a couple of weeks. I would assume it gets pretty bad there. Some of those areas, especially more towards I75, are pretty isolated and theres nothing but woods.

Still smells like BBQ down here. lol. Sky looked really gray today too, not as bad as the Wednesday with all the smoke.
