Ok so where should I start. I had a problem with my pioneer deck where the illumination turns on and off, so i exchanged it for the same exact one.

Few months later the deck starts acting up funny again, then came my climate control illuminations, then my alarm, all of them had a problem to being retarded as in it usually works fine but sometimes it acts up and chooses not to work anymore as in not functioning properly like the alarm would just randomly freak out and not work or goes off on it own also with the deck sometimes doesnt wanna eject or the illumination don't come up.

I bring it to my friend who installed the alarm to check it and fix minor problems that tempoarily worked, however few months later it gets worst, now I am at the point where it completely does not turn on (deck, alarm and climate control) on top of that my now my cruise control refuses to work!

I wrote a smiliar thread about this before, and took the advice to check my alternator etc. but it wasn't the problem. the only conclusion I now can come up with is possibly when my friend helped me hook up the fog lights, we didn't have relays at the time so what he did was bypassed it with a wire. I was meaning to get a relay but I completely forgot about it for like half a year.

One day my fog lights stopped working so I checked my relay box and noticed the relay box itself was tampered with (was slightly open and not clipped on) the only thing I can think of is when I had my car get installed with the deck at fry's they were messing with my relay box since i never touched it since that day I checked it out. What I found inside the relay box was the fog light relay was melted from the people who last worked on my car and messed with it.

So do you guy's think that is the problem? or is it something else? any input is greatly appreciated thanks!

by any chance are you lowered and rubbing? the harness under the driverside fender could be exposed and that can affect your lights. I would know because it happend to me and I couldnt see any of my instruments that night. Plus all my exterior lights wouldnt work.

Another problem you may have is rats. Or some kind of animal.

reach and look under your front driver fender and examine the wiring harness that is run through it, make sure the black housing has not been damaged. If it is, there is your culprit, try it let us know

hey guys i have this problem where my tire is rubbing the harness and my hood release cable. my blinkers are messed up now because of it. there is one wire that looks like it has completely been seperated. i've seen a bracket online somewhere that relocates the bundle higher in the fender well but i cant seem to find it now. any other suggestions? also how would i repair the wiring harness? is there a new one i could buy, or could i just splice some new wires in there?

thanks for any help,
Tony

Splice the wires back together and double check everything else make sure nothing is left open. Then you can pop the fender off and you can actually pull the harness over the lip on the side of the chassis, under the fender. Drill some holes around there and ziptie/safety wire the harness to keep it in place on the lip. That should keep this from happening again.

If you really wanna gung-ho about it, you can cut each wire, extend them and route them inside the engine bay or unplug the harness from under the dash and then again re-route them inside the engine bay.

Other than the fender harness, the relay may have been the accessories relay that supply power to all the accessories.

Don't let dumbasses who know nothing about electronics wire up your car.

You need to check all your fusible links and fuses. Then pull all your relays and check them one by one.

If you don't know how the dealer will gladly do it for $85 per hour for as many hours as it takes.

No one can help you online because you are not providing enough information and we are not omnipotent (although some of us may be impotent...)

Next time do it the right way or don't do it at all.

sounds like a plan. i think while i'm at it i'll pound out my fender to get it ready to paint.
