If you want only springs, you cant go wrong with tein. You should go for coilovers though if you are going to be doing weekend runs. drive it at standard height( or a bit lower) during the week, and drop it on the weekends.
you can pick up a pair or C/O's for a couple hundred more than springs, but it will be money well spent. do it once, do it right

dont waste your money on springs and shock combos i had sportlines and there was almost no performance gain ( body roll was still bad as well) and thats the lowest spring out there i now have coilovers and i will never go back. Just get some coilovers with dampening adjustment so you can run them soft for daily driving and hard for the track.

RSR race springs with koni yellows is awesome and cost effective.
yeah i forgot about rsr springs i also heard they were good but after you buy a combo your almost to the price of some entry level coilovers.
Rsr race springs are still soft as shit. they're just stiffer than any other lowerin gsprings
Get coilovers. Do it once, do it right
Don't listen to s13rookie.
You adjust height, get it aligned and leave it that way. You mess w/ height and your alignment will suck

yeah, please disregard my height comment, its been a long week. im sure i was thinking to myself stiffness adjust instead of height adjust.
Even so, I dont see why lowering the car a bit would throw the alignment off,
as long as the fronts and the backs are kept the same. What I mean is: if you have a car that is aligned, and drop each corner by 1 inch, what would make the car pull? your camber may be off, but it would be equal on each side.
Im a true newb with suspensions, any help would be appreciated

Toe changes with height. Suspension geometry is all about triangles....I know it's hard to understand, and likewise it's hard for me to explain.
But yeah, on a daily driver, you're gonna get toe out as you lower it. If you raise it 2 inches, your toe is going to change drastically, making the tires wear badly. You could align it at half way I guess, which would make it compromised in both of the ride heights actually used...That would be pretty gay though

My vote goes to swift springs. They have a lot of R&D behind their products.

05-05-2007, 10:45 PM
buying swift springs for a drop would be totally retarded
if you are doing drop springs only get whatever goes the lowest off ebay (drop zone? i dunno? some shit?) cause your car will handle like crap anyway

^^ Most of the swift sport mach springs are not aggressively lowered. They make the springs specific to each vehicle. They also have in mind that the end user will be using the stock shocks.
swift=overpriced IMO
get Tanabe springs if you really want lowering springs...they have 3 kinds to suit your needs

I know the owner of Phase 2 Motortrend, so i just ordered a Tein S lower spring from him. Also, a street drifter friend in Japan, he also told me to go with Tein S... and later on, after swap the SR then must have the Coilover.
Rite now i have the cut spring and KYB shocks.. my aligment suck... and thats why im going for the Lowerspring... NOT cheap ass CUT SPRING any more.....stupid me...
But also i got another question, i felt that my KA24e doesnt have that much power at all... the car has 160xxx on the motor, and the condition are in good shape... but just dont feel the power at the low end tourqe... does anyone know what might cause this problem? or i should take it to the shop let them look at it.. or... just the N/A KA24e like that...
Sorry guys... im new to 240sx... but as far as now.. i love them so much.. but really just wanna get more information on the 240sx and some helps.

Apexi Tmax shocks and Kg/mm springs...which ones I have no clue, Tein pillow ball mounts and I think HKS on the front. I haven't seen my baby in three years hence the reason I can't remember shit.

Try researching these questions you have first. There are thousands of threads on this site alone that will be more than help full. It is almost like that old saying just modified to zilvia...

Im on Tein S Techs, they arent bad. Handling is fine for a daily driver on stock shocks. I just wish they were lower. Regardless, Im going to get coilovers anyway, they were just a temporary solution to getting the car a little lower.

Sorry man, but wrong.
You've done it WRONG and you WILL have to do it again, probably sooner than later.
Sportlines are for the look, not much, if any, of a performance gain. Additionally, AGX are NOT intended for quite that much of a drop... at some point your dampers are gonna blow. In fact FinalDrive related that fact in this very thread. If you SEARCH you'll find a dozen or so others who have experienced the same thing. Much lower than 2.0" below stock and you should be looking for some short stroke dampers that are intended for a drop like that... but hey, at least you're not on OEM or GR-2 dampers.
AGX are fairly hearty, so hopefully (depending on how you drive) you'll be ok for a while, but PLEASE don't spread misinformation. The wrong suspension setup can be a very expensive mistake, and none of us want to look like those ricer kids on cut springs, bouncing like mad over every bump and pothole.

I have RSR's on tokico blues. Ride hight is still a little high for my taste, and there is still some body roll (not much though), but overall not too bad. They came on the car, but I am going to coilovers very soon. IMO, coilovers! Save your money and don't worry about the look as much, go for performance, because you can adjust the coilovers. In the end, you can have your cake and eat it too!

what kyb struts did you have? i have megan springs and KYB AGX's and it handles excellent and i have 0 bounce. i dont even have my shocks set very stiff (half way) and it still feels great. i'll probably set them to the stiffest setting next time i go out on the track. but im sorry you had a bad experience with this setup.

I use the agxs on one of my cars, they are excellent when paired with a GOOD spring. The eibach pro-kit was good, in fact the tien spring combo worked good too.

CORRECTION!!!!!!
I just got back from streets at willow and my set up blows more than a vegas call girl! Rides well on the street, was a handfull on the track, I even looped it in turn 3 because they suck so bad (my excuse :ghey: ) and was all over the place in the bowl.
All I can say is ADJUSTIBLE COILOVERS!!!!!!!!!
If I was gonna do springs again I'd try to find a set of used KG/MM race springs. I used to have the DR21 race springs 6k/5k with like almost 3 inch drop front 2.5 inch drop rear.
US market is ass backwards though. Back when I had the springs like 5 years ago the only practical shocks you could find were AGX, and AGX with springs as hard as the DR21's were real crappy. Today you can get Tokico HTS shocks but now nobody makes a decent spring any more.
Just get coilovers.

So much better over stock blown shocks, and for 400 bucks for the springs and shocks, I cant complain.
ANYHOW, as far as the s-chassis goes, I rode in one with RS-R's and bilsteins (i think?) and damn I gotta say with some strut bars and new polyeurothane bushings, it handled like it was on rails.
