Just got jacked

I got home from work today to find my garage got broken into and all my tools got stolen!! Along with my 33lb air compressor!

I'm so pissed right now I can barely think straight. They took EVERY tool, and I mean everything. They even took my fuckin black spray paint cans I had on a shelf. WHO STEALS FUCKING SPRAY PAINT???? And they found my box of Dynamat I was gonna use on my interior (AARRRGGHHHHH), 120 bucks down the drain. But they left ALL my car parts, dash pieces, misc stuff, even my old exhaust I had laying in the corner. The funny thing was seeing the busted up auto tranny sitting pretty right where I left it. HAH damn thing weighs as much as me, shoulda rigged it to drop on their fuckin heads when they borke in.... :eek:

Fuckin bullshit. They did it sometime late last night and I didn't notice it cause I didn't park my car in there that night. Good thing too since they would've broke into it and had a field day. All I can say is thank God for renter's insurance. The total value of all the stuff that got stolen was around 2000 bucks.

And it didn't matter how I locked it up since they didn't cut the lock off, it was a hardened 1/2" thick Brinks lock, they cut right through the locking lever that goes into the garage door sill!!!! Fucking crazy!!

My brother says it was most likely tweakers that just look for anything of value to sell for drug money. oh well what can I do...... no I can't even take my intake off, or adjust my headlamps since I have not one screwdriver.

my tools have been stolen before as well. didnt touch my car or anything else of value (ex mani turbo etc) that was lying around.

wow man that sux...i agree with s13gold they definitely scoped your place out before, most likely someone in your area. Sounds like they just ran in and probably bagged up everything fast which would explain stealing random shit like spray cans, car parts are heavy and would be a waste of time...was your shit all fucked up or was it nice and neat? If I were you id do some detective work. Ask you neighbors if they saw ppl going or coming from your house, dont touch anything and have the cops try and lift some prints if they can. Be smart about this shit, im willing to bet you can catch these guys if your willing to pursue it

wow man sorry. Seems like there are alot of break ins and stuff happening in cali, lots of cars stolen as well.

It makes me kind of happy I have crazy neighbors who almost stalk my house so I would know they would see something.

I hope everything works out for you. +1 on them scoping your house out, it had to be an inside job.

sorry for your loss. I have a suggestion for next time you buy tools. Take a Dremel Tool Hack in your Innitials ( SP ) for example. That way, if you go to a Pawn shop, see your tools there, call the cops and get your shit back. Thats really Shitty man. I hope you get your new tools and do it or put five locks on the door.

thats what homeowners insurance is for. my dads 240 was broken into and they took his tools. insurance replaced all of it.

That is horrible. That's why my shop has an alarm rigged with motion detectors, and door sensors... no chances taken. Also have good neighbors who will come and check out my shop if the alarm goes off and i am not home.

This happened to my upstairs neighbors when they lived in Seattle still. Insurance co. told him that one of the best deterrants is to put your initials on EVERY tool, right down to the individual sockets in your ratchet set... he even heard this before he got jacked, but thought itwas extrenuous... needless to say EVERY tool of his (as mine too after I heard) has initials on it now... he also bought a AR15 and G17 for good measure.

That blows. Keep an eye out. They'll probably be back. I use nail polish on the inside of all my sockets. It can be taken off but not without a bit of effort, and your girl or mother likely has some old crap in a real obnoxious color that she'll be happy to get rid of. Plus, whenever I lend out my socket at work, no one has ever mentioned it so I'd say they don't even notice.

I don't know about your setup but I live in an apartment complex that has separte storage garages. I am getting one of these to alert me of a break in. It will send a signal to the base up to 300ft away.

UPDATE:

Well I contacted the insurance and they aren't going to reimburse me for anything cause they're saying I don't have any proof of the tools and since my air compressor was only 230.00 that's below my 500 deductible.

I never took pics of my toolbox or my garage setup. Oh well there's really no use crying over it, such is life, they'll get their's. I figure since I'm alive and well and they're prolly drugged out tweakers, I win in the end cause I'll be alive and well raising my daughter while they're dead and rotting in the ground somewhere.

I actually decided to push up my move out to this past weekend. I got all my stuff and said "LATER BITCHES!!" Moved into a home in a senior community!! YEAH! Now I have a nice quiet street with neighbors that cant hear my exhaust .... :p

So now I get to rebuild my tool selection up. This time around I'm not going to waste money on cheap knock off stuff. Sears has a great deal on a 160 piece set for 180.00. Gonna check it out.
