Ceramic-40 bucks, 2 year warranty

Semi-metallic- 25 bucks, lifetime warranty.

Which would you choose for s14 with 300zx brakes? Daily driven and tracked.

Not an option at the moment... Race tomorrow, need something in the mean time.

why would the warranty matter if these are just filler before tomorrow? you might as well get the "better" ceramic ones

pick up some Porterfield R4-S's for the next one
www.porterfield-brakes.com

tell them u are a member of NASA and get 20% off

either way the warranty only covers manufacturer defect, not wear

WRONG WRONG AND WRONG. Warranty does cover wear...i've had pads replaced for that.

Option Zero- Thanks man, i'll look into those. Have you had experience with them yourself, and have you also used Hawk pads?

why does it matter about the wear or manufacturer? you're only buying these for one day, then you'll get something better when you have time

Never use the hawks, but the porterfields hold up perfectly find at the track but are streetable. tires: rt-215s, then rt-615s, then fk-451s (yeah, yeah).

also i have been in turdz are with the porterfield R4's on stock brakes...those are the full race version. Damn that shit stops like mad, but the noise is nearly unbearable on the street.

u kno, if you're going to a track, they might have brake pads there if there's a shop...

1) You havent mentioned a brand/model
2) For 25, you're not getting a fantastic pad.

you guys recomend the "race" or "street" carbon kevlar pads?

Car is a DD, but also tracked on semi-extreme road racing conditions....

I'm also a little leary of getting such great pads because i have the 300zx brakes up front, stock rears, and stock BMC...I'm thinking this will throw things WAY out of proportion.

opinions?

Street Carbon.

The race carbon is not as bad as everyone thinks (flasing images of icy pads in the morning).

The race pad still has just as much bite as a stock pad when it is completely cold.

But for DD, the street pad is awesome. Get pads for all 4 corners.

if its gonna be on the track, go with the better quality pads, dont cheap out, its not worth it

I can vouch for this too.

Porterfield pads on stock brakes, stops like Z brakes with normal Pads...

Its pretty awesome. Ive used them with stock rotors and with aftermarket rotors and either way it seems like there is no fad even after corner after corner of braking and they actually lasted a pretty long time (like almost 2 years of pretty serious screwing around on a daily driver).
