im looking for a little advice on my sr20build here it is so far, with this set up it was dynoed on a dynodynamics dyno and made 325whp and 315ft/lb tq.
this is the setup.
redtop sr20det bored honed
eagle rods
wiesco 9:1 compression pistons .020 over
stock crank
hks 272 cams
crower springs and retainers
greddy 1.5mm headgasket
greddy intake manifold, oil pan
blitz intercooler
sard fuel rail, fpr, and 800cc injectors
tial 50mm blow off vlave, 38mm wastegate
hotshot manifold
custom t3/t4 garrett with a t04e turbine wheels in a t3 housing and a t04e compressor housing
custom 3in down pipe to hks downpipe, testpipe and hks hi power exhaust
hbc manual boost controller
koyuo rad electric fans
vlsd
4 puck bronze unsprung with a hd pressurplate
no ac no powersteering
tuning on a power fc d jetro
as i said the car made 325 whp and 315ft/lbs tq at 18 psi, full boost dosent come on till 4200 rpm, and it feels like the motor makes no low end power. The cams apper to be nearly retarted, the nut on the cas is righ t at the bottom. At wot the injector duty cycle is at liek 96% and its pulling out 41 deg igniton timing. the car backfires often and some times bogs between gears. theres only about 3500 miles on the motor. I have been told the igniton map is way off. what should i do. any help is appreciated

you have higher compression pistons but a lower compression headgasket so you are probably below 8.5:1
you have extremely high duration cams
you have a decent size turbo
I think you are stuck with 0 bottom end power....
96% duty cycle for 800cc injectors does not make sense for that much power. You should fix your ignition map and fuel map.............What else do you want someone to say?

what should the ignition timing be?

i think the tuning has allot to do with it, u should be doing allot more hp

the intake manifold and the cams doesn't help low end,
but yeah, who's doing your tuning, or go to apex's website and find an authorized apex tuner, that way you'll know they're decent

What are you spinning the motor up to? Still sounds like tuning.

yeah sounds like tunning... is that duty cycle at wot under boost? sounds rich

could be the wastegate too, if it's not installed/adjusted correctly, it can have no low end power and suddenly feel all top end...

to4e pos, who sold you that?
are they still tuning on the commander?
41deg at 18psi at WOT? Are you sure? If that is true, post the name of the shop, because NO ONE SHOULD GO THERE.

ol Johngriff, the quote was "its pulling out 41 deg igniton timing"
is it even possible to pull that much timing?....

I saw this car in action over the past weekend at Island, and like I told the original poster, he has 3 major things (IMO) to look at:
1.TIMING is WAY OFF. I mean, not a little, but the CAS was completly turned to the left (so much as there was no more adjustment left with the cas) This would explain a serious lack of power...I'd be willing to bet nearly 50 hp would be gained by readjusting it.
2. The valve cover should (again, IMO) be connected to a vacuum source in order to work properly. At a minimum he should be running a catch can, or directly back into an intake.
3. Fix the fuel leeak at the gauge...having a small fuel misting/seapage in the engine bay like that is not good at all.
I can't attest to the D Jetro and it's values at all (as that stuff is complete jibberish to me...I couldn't tell you good from bad in it), but the car (from my perspective) didn't idle to bad, and didn't in herently smoke. I didn't get a chance to hear the car down the track for audible misfire or problems though :/
I still think the main thing is attributed to the timing being completly off....

motors reving to 8000

top recorded valve on teh power fc was most definalty 41 deg, and my friend took the car for a pull and i watched it pull that timing out. the shop the car was tuned at was rpm nyc, im not entirly sure they did the actual tuning but they are one of the shops apex told me to go to.

Whats up man hows it goin, the gauge has been replaced. no more leak

Yeah, the cas needs to be trued up, especially with the PFC where you cannot dictate tooth offset. So the setup procedure should be OEM. Unless it was placed in on the cam incorectly.

good shop, good dyno, wtf timing...?
This thread sucks without graph scans.

Redo the cas timing using the fsm and then load up enthalapys base map for the power fc. Then see how it runs. Also are you running a wideband? What were your afr's? And one more thing.I think you might have entered the wrong injector correction or injector lag time. That high of a duty cycle on those big of injectors is just retarded!
good luck

it should be doing way more!
