Blindly, I bought a HKS wastegate actuator under the advice of this guy at a local perormance shop. He covinced me that this was the source of my problems. What was happening was.... I bought a boost controller (an old greddy profec) and hooked it up and saw no increase in boost. So we put a tee in the vac line (and took the controller out) from the actuator to the ic line and saw a slight increase. So i bought a performance HKS wastegate actuator.... to my suprise, this didn't fix anything!(even with the boost controller). WTF! I'm running in the 5.5-7psi range. So is it my turbo? If so, Can i use the HKS wastegate actuator with an S15 turbo?

Any advice will help...
ps. I am using all the stock sr ic stuff.

Thanks, Mark

either your boost controller does not work or is connected wrong..that is what i get out of reading this. you got rid of the stock boost solenoid and hooked up that profec directly to the actuator and hot pipe right?

I don't know where the stock solenoid is but there is a vaccum line that ran between the hot pipe and the wastegate actuator... i ran the vaccum line to the controller then to the wastegate actuator.

While the actuator will help stabilize higher boost levels(over 14psi) you shouldn't have to have it to just see a boost increase. What you mich want to try, and you need to be careful and Im not responsible for you blowing your engine, is to run your wastegate signal directly to the actuator and begin to shorten the actuator arm a few turns at a time. You dont want to adjust it too short and get 16-17 psi and not expect it. This will raise the boost and will rule out the possibility of a faulty EBC. My guess is that either the boost controller is plumbed wrong, or the boost controller isn't working properly. Its possible its the turbo, but Id rule everything else out first before shelling out for a new turbo.

what about my smic and stock piping... could there be any issue there? also, i tried turning it back a couple times... no increase in boost. i think it might be a combonation of both the turbo and its a faulty ebc.
