Check these out... I snowboard so thats why i love em, if you are looking for a true surf / snowboard feel, then you need a T-board for ultimate carving.

www.tierneyrides.com

Email em, tell them Jason Chrzan (Crew-Zan) Head Snowboard Instructor at Snow Star sent you and he will hook you up.

slightly off topic, but still about skateboarding: what brands of board does everybody recommend nowadays? i haven't been on a board in about seven years, but i was out in san francisco a couple weeks ago and was spotting riders left and right. when i rode, i had a hookups deck on independent trucks and spitfire wheels.

Have you longboarded in the past?

ive cruised around on a longboard, nothing serious like downhill or carving...but it would be nice to take down to the beach or cruise around locally, and i always enjoy skating around at car meets...but i want something that i can have if i do decide to start riding downhill

I'm a big Never Summer Fan, mainly because they give me REALLY cheap snowboards for minimal work =) but they just got into long boarding too.

Oh and Duffman... if you go the forums section of the T-board site you will find a BUNCH of old long board guys. Some are taking the front truck of the T-board, mounting a reverse king pin long board truck with skid wheels in the back and going to town!

But here is my other new toy... So i can still have some screw around time in the skate park but have more of a snowboard feel. http://www.spinskateboards.com/

well honestly, ive never surfed or snowboarded, mainly bike, and skate...so i dont think a T-Board would be for me unless i try it out first before buying one for myself, or else id bust my ass trying to ride it...i felt kinda guilty spending $200 on a longboard, but i think im just gonna order the one i originally posted =]...ill post some pics when it arrives

i stand by my sector 9 pintail... although i've currently scrapped the lb deck and made a hybrid carving board with a short deck. sector 9 on gull wings for life... although those lady decks look rad.
freeboards are the new jam though

What's your budget?

I currently use a cheap Sector 9 to get around classes, and it's good for what I use it for, but if you really want to have some fun on hills/parking garages/ etc... I'd really look into Loaded Longboards.

They've put a shit load of research into making the deck alone. On average its around $250, but you get your moneys worth. Sector 9's are around $180, but I'd sell mine in a heartbeat.

I personally have ridden the Loaded Hammerhead down a parking garage and couldn't really explain what it was like. I'll be getting one once my funds build up again.

I ride anything 7.75 with concave. its more about the shape then the brand - but i do stay away from any deck that comes from the world industries camp...those boards get soggy quick. Shop decks are nice and cheap if you run through them like nothing. trucks: anything thats light - indy's weigh a ton. wheels - i ride on dark stars cause they don't flat spot that easily.

yea well i checked up on a couple forums and did a lil homework, and the landyachtz seem to be fairly good for the price as far as quality/durability and all around riding

carveboards are fun, downhill only though.

For everyday cruising, get a mini longboard.
