Is the SR20 legal in Los Angeles, California.... s13, s14, or s15?

I am old enough to drive... no I do not currently own a 240sx, that is why I am asking questions, so that I am sure that 240sx is best for me. I am sorry I am asking so many questions, or am bothering you but I am curious...


I just searched and nothing came up about the sr20 being legal in CA...

well its plain and simple its not legal anywhere in the United States and if you use the proper keywords in your search you will see this topic has been asked and covered numerous times.
For a import engine to be legal here it has to have been availible in a domestic model of the car and the same or newer year. SR20DET never came in a American 240sx so it is therefore not legal.

even if you get it, you'll never pass emissions... you'll probably try to street race with it. you will be arressted by police your car will be impounded and crushed, and you will pay a big big fine while in prison with some big black dude named bubba who always insists on showering with you.


you better just not buy a 240 and play it on the safe side

ok.... I dont want to drag race wit the car... I actually only want the car for show, and I thought it would get points wit the sr20 swap (It will also be my daily driver), but since the sr20 is illegal, I wont get it... should i get a turbo? Good idea?

No, the SR is not legal anywhere in the united states.

If you're getting an SR, the ONLY way you'll pass is money under the table. THE END.....there's not a "legal" way to pass.

Please dont use a 240 for a show car. I say just get something that would win a show. We all know that it has to look very nice. Why dont you get an SUV and put it on 23's How bout an escalade with a system and dvd player??
