i just finished fabricating a strut bar for my car and the front is all done and im on the rear now while im there after i pulled of the carpet there is a metal panel covering the strut tower..... if i cut this will this weaken the rear structure and im guessing it will not..... just want to be sure.

i would not recommend it. it is a thick metal "turret"..... any body panel THAT thick tells me its there for a reason--strength. have you removed your speaker panel under your back window?? there you will see the top strut mount bolts. all S14 rear strut bars come UP and above the panel so you see it, not thru the trunk area like S13.

There is no need to cut anything. Take out that deck lid like yenpit said. You will see there is a hole for the STB to go through on each side.

hey uuninja, u mean a hole to run bar thru trunk area?? BELOW the speaker shelf, or to come UP above the shelf?? my '98 does not have holes to run thru trunk area, and i checked a '95....same thing. i'm curious as #### cuz someone said that a few months ago here.

is there any other way of doing this w/out exposing the rstb. I think having rstb exposed at the back is not a good thing aesthetic wise it may look ricey.
