View Full Version : Let Me Know What U Guys Think
Thinking about buyiung this 240 and, being relatively new to the tuner scene, I would like to hear what you guys think. For starters its a red, 96 SE, with 128,xxx miles. Also its got an auto to manual conversion. I've already spoken to the owner and maybe this weekend I'll be able to drive down and check it out. The asking price 5900.

What other parts does it have on it. It's nice because it's an SE and saves you trouble of making it 5 lug, the price seems okay. If it was here in cali then it's a nice/okay deal. Don't know about price on the east coast though. GL with it.

A couple grand too much
Zenki even though SE should go for more around the $4000 range
But for PA that might be good
I'm just talking based on CA

The only reason hes asking 5900.00 for it is because hes trying to get his money back for it that he put into the 5spd swap. Sounds like the classic case of I bought car for 4,000 + 1900 for swap (I got suckered) = 5,900.00 Shop around a little more and you will find a cheaper one.

5900!?!?! lol, im on the east coast and thats a ripoff, 240's east of the Mississippi dont go for near that, if it had a poorly running SR20 then MAYBE....
i would sell you my car with all the parts on it and less miles for about the same price, dont buy it

5900 is a rip, but for some reason, people in PA price them like that regularly. meh.

I'll sell you my rx7 with an upgraded turbo and 3k on the ported professionally built motor for that much. It has a good paint job too.
(in other words, buy it and you are dumb)
looks like a good car but like everyone said overpriced

6k can get you a stock kouki if you look hard enough. Altho I am based in socal where these cars are everywhere it might be easier to find. Where you are at, you might only see 5 240sx a month. I say look for other deals. Dont impulse buy because those are the ones you regret later. Do some research and let the seller know the fair market value for the car. Tell him you will give him 4000 and he might say 4500.

If you can talk it down under $4500 i'd get it.
Auto 240sx usually are in better condition.
Just act like you don't care much at all and talk it down. Try getting him to take parts off as well.
for the eastcoast its not a bad deal for a zenki se you just need to look for rust.

Yes, very true. The value price for s14 zenkis have gone down a bit, here in CA though. 5k at most for a SE model.

yah right, my SE was 3200 in better condition with less miles. I have seen swapped Zenkis in Jersey go for less than that in good running condition. If hes too lazy to do anything but look on Autotrader, then yes he should pay it, but better cars are cheaper, guaranteed.

I agree with everyone else. That price seems way too hefty. I know coming by good condition 14s is kinda hard here on the east coast but I dont think in any way a zenki model should be worth that much. The mileage isn't even low.

Offer him 4k and you'll be getting an OK deal

I'd assume S chassis prices on the east coast would be cheaper than Cali prices... but what do I know...
its clean, I'll give you that... but I'd give him a much lower offer than 5900

You can find much better deals out there, you just need to be prepared to drive a bit. I live in ct and bought my s13 in the bronx, and my s14 from New Jersy.
for example: here is a s13 with an SR for $3500 in NH

The price you paid even seems high to me. I almost bought a 96 with 110k on it but for 2800 dollars. 5 lug with VLSD and all
Thanks a lot for all your help fellas. Turns out that I didn't buy the vehicle. In fact I didn't even get a chance to see it, the guy sold it the day I was supposed to meet him.:fawk2: But maybe it was a blessing in disguise.:fawkd:
