i was gonna go get some new tires for drifting and when i engaged myn clutch i heard a loud "CLANK" in the tranny someware and i felt it in the clutch pedal. then the rpms dropped and the car died. when i tried to start it up agian the starter just clicked. what could this mean

that's pretty vague.
could be a clutch issue. your pp could have taken a shit, or maybe your clutch fork broke, etc. i.e. your clutch is always engaged. hard to start the car when the engine can't spin independently of the wheels.

Correct, or perhaps the pivot ball busted. But if it won't start, that could be any number of things. My starter only clicks when there's not a solid connection to the battery as well. Maybe it's unrelated but it's a possibility.

the fingers on the pressure plate can break off
no fingers = no disengagement
