Is there any way of getting true- polarized tint for a car?
Polarization would help GREATLY with visibility - I think more so than the simple decrease in light transmission. I haven't really found anything on this, and was hoping someone might have some thoughts on if its a possibility

I never realized they sold it for windows. I thought it was only available on helmet visors. I'd like to see how it looks if anyone does find it.

I remember playing around with the really high quality polarised filters in school. NO glare whatsoever, I'd love to have that on my car. Out of curiousity, can't you have polarized "tint" without it actually being visually any darker?

I have no idea if they have it for auto windows. You can get polarized sunglasses, visors, etc... I would imagine theres gotta be a way to implement it into nicer tint stock. I dont know if you can buy it, I just know I want it
jon: yea you can get a polarizing camera lens filter,

So, you can polarize something without it getting darker. All the filters I saw and sunglasses I have ever seen are obviously to reduce overall light and glare thus it was tinted and darker. But, if you could get untinted polarized tint on your front windshield that would be awesome and legal.

I have polarized tint for my car due to some war injuries. My VA doctor got it for me and the tax payers footed the bill. Total cost on the little payment slip they handed me was $800 for all my windows but the front. The bad part is it is much darker from the outside but only slightly tinted from the inside out and I still get pulled over. Last time I was told it was too dark, I showed him my DOT authorization papers and my DOD authorization papers and he said it doesn’t matter. He said "how do you get your eyes hurt at war." in a smart ass tone. I just stopped talking to him I was so pissed after that. I have clothes older then he was.
1. So yes they have it... but it’s not being produced by a major manufacturer so it’s a case by case thing.
2. Still gets me in trouble. I go to court on Monday to show the judge my papers and VA letters and authorizations.

PS it was laid under the slightly tinted film... I don’t know if it would do anything by itself. Maybe it would cut glare... All I know as much as it helps me not feel sick anymore, it’s almost not worth the pain of the harassment.
Here is a side shot... you can see that looking INTO my car is pitch black, but look through my front windshield through my passenger window, and you'll see how its much different. Sorry it was a cloudy day. =(
